updating to 2.1

Ok, right now I have mu own, 1.12 server. I like it a lot, but another privete sever that i play on now is 2.1. So is there any way to update my 1.12 sever to TBC 2.1 and still keep my database, is there a way to update it to 2.1 with deleteing my databace.
