About Fiesta Help

Troubleshooting for Fiesta Online server owners: connection errors, database problems, client crashes and configuration mistakes.

Most problems posted here come down to a handful of causes: the client pointing at the wrong address, a database the server cannot reach, a missing runtime library, or a port that was never opened. Search before posting - the same Fiesta Online errors come up often and usually already have an answer.

Fiesta Online server files are named by region and year: NA 2008, the V1.3.1 NA 2011 guide, CN 2012 Hunter Kingdom (HK), the fixed 2015 files, TeamNG 2016, a 2015 virtual machine, plus Odin server files, client and tools. Setup is Windows and MSSQL - SQL 2008 Express or 2008 R2 - restoring .bak databases, then services, Zones, launchers and patchers; .Net Framework and Visual C x86/x64 are prerequisites and the 2015 files need a hex editor. Data sits in .shn and .otd, edited with SHN Editor, Fusion Editor and Quest Editor. Recurring: Authentication failed, error106, Hamachi and GM command lists. Project Atom aimed at an open source emulator.

Common questions

How do you use GM commands on a Fiesta Online private server?
Commands are prefixed with & and each carries a required admin level: &adminlevel needs 1 and reports the current level, while &z, &hide, &show and &pfind need 10. &makeitem takes -l or -u. &expbonus and &itembonus are in promilles, so 1000 equals 100 percent. Others include &summonplayer, &kickout, &silence, &killallmob and &mobbreed.
Why won't Fiesta Online server services start on Windows 10?
Windows 8 and 10 do not run the required services properly - use Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2, in a virtual machine if the host is strong enough; a released 2015-files VM image ships MSSQL and the services preconfigured with a matching client. AccountLog, Character, GameLog, Login, Manager, Rest and Zone00 through Zone03 all have to start. A GameLog-only DB_Init FAILED = DSN=w00_GameLog points at the ODBC DSN or that account's permissions.
Why do item and coin drops not work on a Fiesta Online private server?
Drops run off drop groups, so changing MinCen, MaxCen, the rate or the checksum alone drops nothing. The item needs a group set in ItemInfoServer under column DropGroupA or DropGroupB, and that group has to be added to the DropTables of each mob it should drop from. In the default files Cen has no drop group assigned, though a premade Money group exists.
