About OGame Help

Troubleshooting for OGame server owners across 0.9, v11, 5.9, 0.8, v1.3 and v0.9 - connection errors, database problems, client crashes and configuration mistakes.

Most problems posted here come down to a handful of causes: the client pointing at the wrong address, a database the server cannot reach, a missing runtime library, or a port that was never opened. Search before posting - the same OGame errors come up often and usually already have an answer.

OGame private servers are PHP browser-game clones, searched as OGame server files, OGame clone script, OGame source or OGame server setup, running on Apache and MySQL under WAMP, XAMPP or AppServ with Navicat, on localhost or a cPanel host. XNova releases cover 0.3 multilanguage, 0.8, the 8.0 SP1 English repack, the Redesigned betas, xNova Revolution 5.8, 5.9 and RV 1.4 Civilization. Also OasisRage (Ro11++), RageOnline v11, RocketNova 1.0rc7, Rogue Universe 0.8.1, 2Moons 1.2 to 1.7.1 Gold, XGP 2.8, OGProyect, SuperNova.WS and Xterium, dating from 2008. Setup work is English language packs for Spanish, German or Russian releases, config.php and constants.php edits, importing install.sql, and MySQL connection and blank-page errors.

Script versions covered here 0.9v115.90.8v1.3v0.9

Common questions

Why will my OGame client not connect to the server?
Nearly always the address the client is pointed at. On many builds the server address sits inside a packed client file rather than a plain text config, so it has to be edited there. Check as well that the server is listening and the port is actually open.
Why will my OGame server not start?
Usually a database it cannot log in to, a missing runtime, or a port already in use by something else. The server console or log normally names the cause on the first failure, and the processes often have to be started in a particular order.
How do I get a useful answer about OGame here?
Post the OGame build you are running, the file set you used, the exact error text and what you have already tried. Threads with that detail get answered; vague ones usually do not.
