just abit plain.. lose the scrolling image (and make sure if you get one same backround)

Layout is ugly, there's a leftover <p> tag, the scrolling image is so 1995 and it doesn't follow just about any requirement from W3C.

4/10. Its fine it your writting it by hand. but if your using frontpage/dreamweaver then its piss poor. But heck, I remember my first few webpages, LOL dont even wanna go there.

Don't use a WYSIWYG editor, you will never get anywhere good with those, notepad 2 is your best friend. Learn to code HTML by hand and you can reap the rewards of web marketing and SEO

It does look plain but graphics are overused in most web pages anyway, all-text isn't bad.

That's right, most graphics on the page are for layout rather than for content, unless there is a specific photograph or something... and a lot of people opt for flash which gives a somewhat smaller file size sometimes, and can be animated in different ways, although probably annoying to ie users lol.

No offence, but dreamweaver sucks in my opinion...

I code all of my websites by hand in PHP Designer 2007 using CSS // HTML and PHP. Its actually a rather nice free editor imo.

It looks ok for your first, but i would recommend reading up on some CSS, and use dreamweaver as a start if needed to get the hang of it, but TBH i find i learned a lot more coding it myself in PHP Designer or notepad rather than dreadweaver automatically filling in code for me.

Tbh, i think you learn more without DW, because notepad // PHP Designer 2007 does not fill in the code for me. And actually i dont think DW can fill in PHP.

I use PHP Designer 2007 because it highlights the code and has tabs, that way i dont have to have 12 notepads open when working on my website.

No problem

Im not in the industry tbh, however, *if* I was I do know how to use Dreamweaver if required to. I just feel its to... bloated down with stuff for what im doing atm. And tbh, my computer runs PHP Designer 2007 a hell of a lot better than it ran DW8 or MX2004 for that matter.


Anyway, off to school >< :/ thank god its the last year...

Ofcourse you can. HTML and CSS is all you need, and even normal windows notepad can fix a good layout for you if you know how to.

Also, RageZone is not a 'check my site here' forum. There are other places to do that, but I'd reccomend not visiting them for risk of being laughed away. I'll leave this open for now, but don't make a topic like this again.

I was about to say that Frag. Well back to the topic, it really isn't that bad for one of your first few pages, but I suggest you look up making templates on various photoshop tutorial sites. They will help you alot along the way to learning to design. I personally prefer to work on the backend rather than the frontend, but that's me.
