You did not look at the full tutorial, this is way too boxy, look at all the versions of the tutorial, version 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6.

Then it will show you more then that.

I see some Subsurf at the edges end/tip, or its just looking like that, never use subsurf pls.

Hellsniper is right. Subsurf just isnt an option for gunz.

Try to extrude your non sharp edges, then scale them down so it makes it more rounded looking

use any cylinders or UVSPHERE'S.

Use less vertices when you're creating the cylinder or uv spheres. Too many can cause fps lag.
