Before I continue working on florensia emulator of mine, I wanna make small server<->client application to cover all the knowledge that will be needed to finish off emulator.

I can think of chat, file transfer, etc etc. But I want something maybe a bit more advanced and/or interesting.

P.S. If you are going to say "Go read books", then don't bother typing that in. I learn from practice and google :P:I am cool like that

Create an app that uses allows the user to search youtube thru your app.

Your app should display a thumbnail, the title, and the play length of each search result.

It can use the youtube search API: Reference Guide: Data API Protocol - YouTube APIs and Tools - Google Code

For bonus points, create the UI in WPF (C#)

For superduper bonus points, display the search results in 3D in a <Viewport3D>

Sounds good but could it be something more related to emulators. Such as sockets, leading some data, blah idk.

VOIP inside game?
I havn't seen any games that do that yet...

And good luck with your project :)

Make a small netbased game? (such as a multiplayer game where all you can do is walk around and maybe do a few actions with other player online)
That's the best practice you'll ever get on creating server<->client applications, but it's frustrating as hell if you're a starter on that topic, because each time there's a bug you have a much harder time finding where the source of it is, and it's easier to make mistakes
