Global Warming

We should think about the world instead about ourself agree?

Yes... however just saying We should help isn't going do nothing. You actually have to go out and do something practical to help the Earth and stop global warming. The thing is there is lots of stuff out there being developed to help the Earth however the ice is melting quicker than we can help protect the earth.

Are you seriously saying that... The water level will rise which could cause lots of flooding and also kill lots of species of animals and things will still haven't discovered.

What? Quite sure you're only half right. Just not about the animals we haven't discovered.
A lot of the Netherlands (just one example) is below waterlevel. And if that water breaks our dam, we're in some serious problem here.

Oh, yes. You forgot something else that can kills it. Humans.

Humans are technically animals and i did say about flooding.

Heres a map to show who could be affected if the water levels rise, as you can see alot of countries could be flooded and lots of people could be killed, this is why its a big problem.

Well, yes the earth is warming up when compared to the very short period in earths life. So, you could look a graph like this and say "Wooo we're doomed!":

However, while humans do contribute a lot to to "greenhouse gases" and whatnot. It really doesn't seem to be that big of a deal. For example cows alone produce almost as much CO2 as cars around the world. All animals produce these gases. There are natural phenomenon that produce massive amounts of greenhouse gas.

That said, when you look at estimated earth temperature trough much longer timescale, the image changes completely:

Looking at this graph, everything seems rather normal, doesn't it?

So.. my personal opinion is that this whole global warming thing is just bunch of reasons for government and corporations to both invest taxpayers money into such cause as well as sell products to people that are bought into that... You know, stuff that has "bio" or "eco" infront of it and cost triple. Or even worse - Toyota Prius. Hate that thing.

So yeah... even though floods and ice ages and such might be very uncomfortable and tragic, I really doubt they are caused by humans so much as they'd like us to believe. It's just a natural cycle of earth.

I think establishments are doing much, much more harm to our planet with other activities.

We actually contribute most of the CO2 even thought cows produce green house gases its are fault because beef and stuff like that is in such of a demand we have been breeding so many cows.

Well, cows are just an example. I read somewhere that cows produce approx. 80% of the CO2 that cars do. Of course there are factories countless other things that are directly related to humans contributing. But there are also buffalos, gazelle, elephants etc. producing these gases, as well as natural phenomena such as volcanoes, which produce massive amounts of CO2.

The things is that none really knows how much nature itself is emitting these gases, we can't probe every animal and phenomena to measure this.
But it's easy to say that "cars produce bazillion tons of CO2! And look at the ice melting!".

But this is just my opinion. But even though media conceives global warming as a fact, there really isn't any definitive evidence. As you can see on the graphs, the global temperature is right now about +0.4 *C higher than "normal", but looking at the longer time span it has been as high as ~+3*C and as low as ~-9*C. And from what I can see, it looks pretty constant cycle.

Also it's pretty impossible for someone to invent a device or something that will reverse this effect. It has to be global effort by everyone. But with all the... "more visible problems", and money-hungry corporations controlling the worlds resources and production I don't see it happening until it's probably too late.
While at the same time there are much more solvable problems. Like more efficient sustainable energy source(s), which could at least help the global warming issue, as well as revolutionize pretty much everything.
And at the very same time we're at right now the corporations in hand with governments are pretty much holding such technology back... for profit.

Whaoo, your personal opinion is really messed up. You can't be serious.

The reason cows contributes so much for the leak of CO2, is more or less because Beef is wanted. We cut down trees in order to make space for land where they can eat, and we product more and more cows. That's why.

It's not just a natural cycle of the earth. Earth have been doing fine for decades, until we started leaking CO2 inventing new technology and cutting down forests. When we use tree for fire and such, we leak all the CO2 it has gained while growing back out. Do you realize the amount of that?

It's obvious we've been doing to much research and used to my resources without thinking. Cutting down forests affects the carbon cycle, and so does our factories. A standard carbon cycle would do fine without us, and would be able keeping the green house gases to a decent level. It goes on for the eternity. But due to our factories and our abuse of resources, the carbon cycle have been affected and there are now more leak then the carbon cycle can handle.

Also, someone said that the melting of ice doesn't matter? Whao, go back to school.

The result if ice melting, is that the temperature in the ice will raise, which will result in the water molecule to increase it's size. So including the ice becoming water, we also have the water molecule growing to bigger sizes. Which may result in a water raise of many many meters. Which again will result in huuuuuuuge damage to certain places all over the world. Also, animals might not be capable of adjusting to the new temperatures and climate.

Sorry for my poor English in this post. I'm not used to discuss such things in English, so I haven't got to much practice expressing science.

Ice is melting, how does this actually affect us?
Tell me your kidding? Please? As the ice melts, the water levels rise and will cause devastating floods which will eventually wipe out a lot of the countries. An example is the Maldives, part of the island is only 35cm above sea level and other parts only 70cm above sea level, so once these ice caps melt, everybody who lives in the Maldives are fucked, because their island is going to be under water within the next few years. This will kill hundreds of thousands of people and survivors will eventually die in the sea. This will follow to other countries and then once every single part of the Polars (North and South) melt, then it'll prove deadly, in fact, nobody would survive.

I don't really care about global warming, why spend your life giving a **** about things when you could die tomorrow? Chances are, nothing major will even happen in any of our lifetimes.
Yes, you COULD die tomorrow. You could die now too, but nope, we're still alive. There may be some affect in our lifetime, but it'll be far worse in our children and grand children's life time. Global warming also carries an increased risk of skin cancer too, so I definitely care. There's nothing we can do now though, the ozone layer is already fucked and the ice caps are melting away. The problem can only get worse really.

They will adapt to the changes over time. Just like you adapt to the climate when you go on holiday to a hot country.

It seems I didn't get my point across properly. I absolutely agree that we have been doing way too much harm to the planet without thinking.

What I'm saying is... and this is going to sound wrong .. global warming, in my opinion, should be taken more like a concern, rather than urgent problem.
I could probably write whole night explaining myself, but I will instead try to make it easier with analogue to hopefully paint a bigger, more colorful image. =)

Lets say you are trapped in a boat, in the middle of the sea with your worst enemies. You all have limited supplies and energy. And this boat is your whole world, everything you've ever known. No rescue.

Now every one of the people on this ship is concerned about different things.
  • The hungry one is concerned about the equal share of the food (Poverty)
  • The angry one thinks that they all should fight to the death, and the winner can have all the resources and decisions to himself. (War, greed)
  • The inventive one suggests investing all of the time and energy into inventing some sort of device.. perhaps something unheard that could catch the fish from the sea. So there would be more time to figure all these problems out.
  • The strongest one who also holds the key to the food does not accept anything else except everyone should serve him in exchange of barely survivable amount of food. (Inequality)
  • The cowardly one agrees to everything the strong one says, and is ready to serve. (Government sucking on corporation balls)
  • The sick one is sick of this dumb argument, wishes it would be over already, so there would be some hope of getting aid. (Sickness)
  • etc.
  • Now the last one is concerned about the upcoming weather. He has noticed that there is a possibility that it might get colder sometime soonish. So he suggests that all of the people should start practice cuddling each other while sleeping, so they could keep warmth. (Global Warming)

Now... what do you think, who will get what they want?

===========
Like I said in my last post there probably is no way to reverse this effect without a global, unified effort. But this won't happen until it's too late. Not with current economy.
There are much more urgent problems, that we could actually deal with today, with reasonable amount of people.
However media=government still pushes on this global warming stuff, as well as many other "make-you-guilty" problems.. or should I say products.
