Has been tested and work great on Centos 4 with the English client.
For newer version of CentOS or Ubuntu. U will have to empty file factionname.txt (can be found in gdeliveryd folder) or u will face this "glinkd: Connect to delivery failed." issue

About the profile file in etc folder delete these last lines:
export LC_ALL=zh_CN
export LANG=zh_CN
and dont copy the .bash_profile file in root folder or send it to Your Linux or your Linux will be in Chinese
Just send all files to Linux and don't forget command chmod 0777.
Unpack lampp, config Lampp, restore mysql database with phpmyadmin, edit mysql password in table3.xml file (in etc folder). Copy elements.data from client to server and start your server that's all.
English client is working perfectly.
Confirming work on Centos 6.4, Ubuntu 13.04

Anyone can make it work with another newer version of Linux would be great.

just do those steps and you will be fine with it. you don't have to setup anything in your Linux (java..). Just send all server folder to your linux and do those steps.
