I need a Beginner guide to map editing

I recently obtained a RYL2 server from an associate and I need help with the 101 of map editing/NPC placement. I have this Map editor but I cant find the map file, in my VPS theres a filed called map3.exe in c/server/map3.exe but I cant open it with the map tool editor. HELP!

Its used to open and edit .z3s file, which you can find inside your game folder

OK,but there arent any z3s files on my VPS pc

that mean you dont have the game installed on your VPS, just install the game and you'll find the file inside the game folder

Could u elaborate further please,Cuz the game is up and running but I dont like the mods and additional he made in the game.I want to make it vanilla like RYL Incomplete Union.

Im not sure how to elaborate further as what i write before is as easy as it is to understand, so i'll just attach an image on the game folder below. The file that ends with .z3s is the map file that you can use your program above the open and edit.

As u can see from the image attatched I look for .z3s files and these 3 are the ones the VPS had and they cant be open by RylCoder or Rmap, as for the other pic thats the file where the game is downloaded and the is only a file called Map3 which is a .exe file. so I dont know where the feller had previously install the file or where he put the asset and how he even did modifications :/.
