TopSites: List Your Private Server, Free

Listing a server on RaGEZONE TopSites is free, takes about five minutes, and the listing goes live immediately. This page is what you get and how to set it up.

What a listing is

A page of your own on an indexed domain, in front of an audience that is here for private servers specifically. Your banner, your description, your link, your screenshots and your trailer. You keep control of all of it and can edit any of it whenever you like.

It also carries your rank - the position your players' votes earned you this month - and a page of reviews written by people who have actually played.

Adding one

1. Join the forum if you have not already. One account runs as many listings as you like.
2. Go to TopSites and press Add listing.
3. Pick the game, write a description, and upload a banner.
4. Set an opening date if the server has not launched yet - it puts you on the launch calendar and alerts anybody watching on the day.

That is the whole of it. Nothing is held for approval in the normal case, and nothing needs paying for.

Rewarding your players for voting

The part most owners come for. You can connect your game server to the directory so it is called every time somebody votes for you, and hand out vote points, currency or items automatically.

It is one signed HTTP request, so you can prove it came from us and nobody can forge votes at your reward script. There is a working example, a test button, and a delivery log with the last few attempts and what they answered. See rewarding your players.

You can also drop a vote button into your own site or launcher, and carry your own player reference on the link so the reward reaches the right account even for players with no forum account. See getting votes.

What ranking costs

Nothing, and it is not for sale. The order is votes, reset monthly. There is a paid VIP tier and it is worth saying exactly what it does not do: it does not move you up. What it does buy is on the VIP page of any listing you own.

What we ask

• One listing per server. Not one per rate, per season or per language.
• Your own artwork or artwork you are entitled to use.
• A link that works. Dead links are retired automatically after a while.
• Do not buy votes and do not vote from accounts you control. It is checked, the votes are removed when it is confirmed, and the listing loses its place in the ranking for the rest of the month - see the vote integrity page, which names the listings that has happened to.
