If opening the client takes too long make sure to kill the BlackXchg.aes process during start. I just do it in the start.bat

after i changed ServiceHostnames.txt to my WAN ip or Domain my MicroPlayService/MMO/Ping/PVPService is stuck at Booting state

Try uploading a screenshot of what the log says or copypaste the text it outputs in those services that stuck.

Also, are you trying to host and play on different machines or do you want to play with other people?

yes, i am trying to play on different machine & network with my friends (may i ask if it's possible to use WANip ?)

ps.it work well with LAN ip but my friend cannot create boat

What you mean with VM Server2008? I wouldnt recommend running this in that OS.


If you are having problems with WAN IP you can try using ZeroTier as a virtual LAN.

But probably you have a problem with your services configuration.

I was missing an input in sectors (heroesContent.db3)

[RELEASE] WhisperChat Fix - Services & Wcf Logic

Hey everyone,

Regarding the chat issues mentioned recently, I’ve spent some time digging into the services and I’ve got a fix for the WhisperChat.
After spending several days digging into how the services interact and using Claude-AI to help me refine the code, I’ve finally managed to fix the Whisper chat functionality.
I’ve attached an archive containing the 4 files required for the fix. Inside, you’ll also find two PDF guides (one in Italian, one in English).

Huge thanks for sharing your files and the server!
I managed to get everything up and running and it plays like a dream. I’d tried some other files before but had a lot of issues with the Crossbow Kai—super glad to see that the Kai is actually fixed in your version!

I also set up the client/server via TailScale, so I’m already playing with some friends remotely.

Just had a quick question about this build:
The only chat that works is "ALL" Whenever I try to use Party or Whisper, the game just completely freezes up on me.

Anyone have a fix for this?

• Enable SQL Server Authentication mode in SSMS (Server Properties > Security)
• Verify SA password matches config files
• Enable the SA account: Security > Logins > sa > Properties > Status > Login: Enabled

Spoiler: Cannot connect to SQL Server

• Verify SQL Server service is running
• Check TCP/IP is enabled in SQL Configuration Manager
• Confirm port 1433 is set in IPAll

Run the PowerShell commands in Step 8.

• Verify EndPoint.txt file is configured with LAN/WAN ip
• Verify hosts file is configured correctly on client
• Check Windows Firewall isn't blocking connections

Having some issues with the services. First time trying to setup my own pserver so I might've made a few mistakes.

Edit: Not doing this on a virtual machine

Seems like you are having the same problems as term0s
Did you use a DB password with special characters?
Do you have VC++ 2012?

Try selecting all "booting" services and stop-run them again, leave location service running, its the important one for the rest to connect haha. ( stop= "O exit (F8)" in the upper bar )

I did not use any special characters for the password. Upper case letter at the beginning and 2 numbers at the end.
I do have VC++ 2012.

Tried stopping and then running them again, stuck on booting still sadly.

1- check for incorrect connection strings, firewall restrictions, or stopped SQL services.

2- Quick check with a powershell:

sqlcmd -S .\VINDICTUS -U sa -P YOUR_DB_PASSWORD -C -Q "SELECT 1"

You should see:

3- Also try connection check to db:

Test-NetConnection -ComputerName 127.0.0.1 -Port 1433

You should see:

TcpTestSucceeded : True

4- Try to check if Instance is running:

Get-Service -Name "MSSQL`$VINDICTUS"

Should display:

Status Name DisplayName
------ ---- -----------
Running MSSQL$VINDICTUS SQL Server (VINDICTUS)

5- Last check:
Open services.msc > Look for "Remote Control Client Service" & "Remote Control Server Service" and make sure both are "running"
