1.45 Installing Tutorial + Servers pack ( ronny style )

That sounds really extremely odd, that only certain maps will not function on Ubuntu 12(.04). For you this is somehow cured by simply using an older release of ubuntu ???

I am asking because I know the problem cannot be the OS itself, as I stated I am basing my upcoming release/update (I'm doing a v145 release too) around Ubuntu 12.04 and ALL instances work just fine... ... ...

well look my topic

unfortunately no one has the solution
but I change version of linux ubuntu to 11.04 and the problem as fixed

@edit
in initial time i think the problem are on gshop because i change my gshop to old version 1.44 server and the maps starts normally
but i modify the gshop using sghopeditor the some maps described on this topic stop to work
in change of linux the maps works normally
okay man

you manage to run all maps? what ram you got?
As for what 343 runs, lol he has many servers and I would assume none with no less than 32 GB of ram. Just for shits and giggles some time do a search for 343 and system specs and see what you find.

@CRX Yay, someone that pays attention around here!

@gcleff This is true, I have more servers than I almost know what to do with. I have two full 42u server racks filled {yes, with servers} <.< Lowest amount of ram in any given single server of mine, 16GB, with the highest in a single machine being 512GB...

If you want to see my recommendations on requisite specifications for running a PW server you may wanna read my post HERE && HERE

Also, before anyone starts spouting off at the mouth about how they can run more maps on less ram (than my recommendations) ~ it's already been done, so I'll just quote my exact response from the last time that happened:
Additionally (no offense, but) I don't care if you "can" run all those maps on only 1.5GB of RAM, doesn't mean you should. Example: "I can 'hold up' a convenient store, doesn't mean I should" <.<
The only other thing I have to say about that is: If you're running a server for yourself, IE a test/build server - then hey, by all means, do whatever the **** you want. However, if you're looking to run a 'public' server (one that can accommodate a high number of simultaneous connections~IE 100's or 1,000's of users) You will not scrape by with less than what I have recommended

it's running weird now...

the model for female... doesn't show... any other advice ???

I REALLY WISH PEOPLE AROUND HERE WOULD LEARN HOW TO READ/SEARCH/READ/SEARCH/READ/SEARCH; AGAIN I WILL ANSWER THIS,,, AGAIN //EYEROLL

AND MAKE SURE YOU'RE USING MODELS.PCK FROM OFFICIAL PWI PATCH V652

I still can't see it being an OS issue, and am thinking switching OS's 'making it work' was merely a coincidence. I'm not sure what to tell you other than it most likely is a GSHOP issue somehow or another. I wouldn't know for sure as I personally haven't bothered too much with GSHOP, and I'm actually in the process of REMOVING the 'item mall'/'cash shop'/'boutique'/'gshop' or whatever you want to call it ~ from my next release/update/expansions... ... ... I figure it this way, it only exists as a way for the official company to make their money, so there's no reason for it to be there in a private server... Anything you want to 'sell' you can 'sell' from a NPC...:):

If you don't want to give up your 'shop' then I suggest starting with a brand new/clean/empty one and working on it one item at a time (yes, while using Ubuntu 12.04.1). The few things I have learned/know about GSHOP:
  • Don't exceed 2,500 combined items for sale (between all tabs/items)
  • Don't use item ID's higher than 30,000
  • Don't exceed the stack limit of an item
  • Do only use item ID's for items that positively exist in your elements.data

I never said you're ignorant, but I am saying the OS cannot be to blame for this... Especially since you said:

Obs²: this happened only after the modification of gshop, if I restore the old gshop back to work the maps

So all maps worked for you (on Ubuntu12) until you changed gshop, you said so yourself, when you changed gshop is when they (certain maps) stopped working... When you changed it back ("restore" old gshop) they started working again...

So if somehow you're able to use the GSHOP that doesn't work w/ Ubuntu12 (for whatever reason) w/ ubuntu11/10 ~ Congratulations... I have no idea how or why that would be...

It's just that your entire situation is boggling me, and maybe it's because of any translation/language barrier issues (I tend to use a LOT of slang), I don't know. I do know, it cannot be purely the OS's fault that any maps aren't running ~ furthermore because I have a full v145 server running on Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS just fine, all maps... ... ...

why i can't use English v652 elements.data? getting Map Service offline and i also tried v63files=elements.data

here is the link for EN v 652
