[Ascent] Server Problems....

Hi everyone,
I downloaded the acsent server "Wickedx2x Repack v2 2.3.0" (Aswell as mysql, sql, all the needed programs), Im having a bit of a problem installing this, In the guide it says to

"Go into the world folder you downloaded. There will be a batch file called Tool. - Right click the file and select Edit."

But, I have no "World Folder" so, How exactly do i get past this part?

Please help me with this!

your world folder he's talking about is the database NCDB, it will have Tool.bat in it as well as all the sql files needed.

Thanks for the reply, I got that working now, Although i still cant acess the server i created (Lan) (Login with Root account seems to freeze) :/

Sorry about the double post but,
I have installed Ascent correctly (Trying to run on lan) (Does Ascent work with BC?) i have done the maps, sql etc stuff.

Im having a bit of trouble with my IP's i think, Can anyone tell me wich is my External and Internal IP in "IpConfig"???

I have the server stuff on one computer, Im trying to connect to it on a network computer (Same network) with the admin and adminpassword details, Aswell as the realmlist with the IP-Address (Wich, I think may be the problem).

Anyone help me out here please?

well if you are running the server on the same computer you are playing on you can just set your realmlist to "localhost" or "127.0.0.1" if you are connecting from a seperate computer on the same lan you can just use the lan address. (usually looks something like 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.100) As far as your external IP it will be a random number and you can find it @

Hi,
I found my "Lan IP" and well, It doesnt seem to be working still neither does local host or the 127 one...

I im sure i have it set up correctly, As when i run the ascent it all loads up fine, Loads all characters, creatures, nps ,etc...

Any suggestions?

Ascentdoes run on Burning Crusade btw doesnt it?

Yeah your version should be able to run burning crusade. Check your character db and under the "accounts" table there is a box called flags. Make sure that box say "8". "8" is for BC and "0" is for an account without BC

Im using this as my IP , 192.168.1.1

are you using a router? usually 192.168.1.1 is the IP for the router itself and not your computer.

I actually do have a router, Do i need to configure the ports to make it work for lan? 0.o

Its currently saying "Unable to connect" instead of closing down, or freezing atm.... When i try to log in

well it's probably be a good idea to go ahead and forward the needed ports, are you playing wow on the same computer your server is running on?

I am installing it on this computer, To play on this aswell as others (Possible i think?). Basicly the server is for myself, brother , etc to play on the same network.

Do i need to use the "SQL updates folder" contents? If so, How do i update this stuff ? :/

and follow #4 and get a dyndns account and set that up on the host computer. That way you can just use the dns address so that you know you have the right IP.

You need all SQL Updates possible to have the best quality server.

Yea, How exactly do i "Load" the sql updates? I have Navicat for MySQL and SqlLyog.

I just created/set up a dns like it tells you how to do in the guide, Im gonna forward my ports after work...

Right,
I set up the dns , I set up the port forwarding... I changed the realmlist and so onwards, I can now log in.

But, I cant create a character, Why is this?
