Many people have been getting this problem over the last 24 hours, so i thought i would just make a thread to explain it, in anticipation to the threads which will be made here.
Problem : Your AVG will have an alert icon in your system tray, when you click on it update manager says a .bin file is missing. No other information is given, and further updates can not go through.
This is an issue AVG is aware of, it is just a corrupted file which was accidentally sent out in their automatic update (so MANY people have it).
