Is there a tut that anyone knows of i been searching and looking for a tut that will help me add a bidding system or a auctioning system to a CMS

Thanks if anyone can help me

It's actually pretty easy, just create a few MySQL tables, select information from them, etc.

for example

table 'bids'

==========
Table Structure
==========
biddername
bidamount
date

PHP:
$script = "SELECT * FROM `bids`";
$query = mysql_query($script) or die(mysql_error());
$fetch = mysql_fetch_array($query);

echo $fetch['biddername'] . "has bidded " . $fetch['bidamount'] . " on " . $fetch['date'];

etc.

I wrote it myself. O_O
Are you a PHP/(X)HTML/MySQL beginner?

I suggest that you don't start off too fancy, and begin with the basics.

For items you can do:

table 'items'

==========
Table Structure
==========
id
name
startingprice
latestbid
stock

PHP:
$script = "SELECT * FROM `items` WHERE stock!=0";
$query = mysql_query($script) or die(mysql_error());
$fetch = mysql_fetch_array($query);

echo $fetch['name'] . " is on sale for " . $fetch['startingprice'] . ". The latest bid is " . $fetch['latestbid'] . ". <br>Stock: " . $fetch['stock'] . "";

Then try working on this yourself.
I've given you two elements of it now.

Get an E-commerce system, or buy a PHP bidding system.

http://www.oscommerce.com/
http://www.phpprobid.com/

You don't want to take on all the things needed by yourself. You'd have to worry about accepting different kinds of payments, dealing with PayPal or credit cards, etc. It's not a good path for anyone short of advanced in all web-based fields. Not to mention legal matters.. It's best to use an existing system, or better, buy one that's reputable.

Ice Cold doesn't know what he's talking about, that's hardly scratching the surface. Anyone in PHP kindergarden can do what Ice Cold just did, that's not even close to a fully-structured, multi-payment compatible bidding system. Don't get me wrong, I'm no more capable then he is of creating such a system. Nor is the OP, from what I can see.

An existing stable system is what you want, if you plan on making money with it anytime soon.

No i know some basic like register User CP stuff like that. i dont want like a full thing like phpprobid just looking for people to bid, sell , buy thats about it i will work on it thanks guys
