It's lovely, the only thing habbo-ish about it is the Static Hotel logo, other than that it looks like any normal design I love it!

the orange-brownish color kinda oldish for me, make it brighter somehow, the shadow of the player kinda too much, and try to shape the shadow ellipse instead

overall its simple and different

Self-taught, was on an apprenticeship at some company for 3 months or so - where I picked some tips up - and then lost it due to poor motivation (I only blame myself). Did some work experience at the same company a year prior (whilst at school).

Currently in college, but the course is more tailored to those who have little background knowledge, which is pointless. Roll on University.

which front page huh?

I believe he used, Helvetica and Arial

Gotham, and the rounded variation. It's a commercial font however, and I don't own a license - so I'll use a webfont alternative if I happen to use the design.
