borland C++

hi i have decided to learn c++ and i was thinking about purchasing borland c++ but before i get it i thought it would find out from u guys if i should get it or not and if i shouldnt get it what other c++ program should i get tbh? i aint a programmer so i dont really know alot lol so i like to ask questions thats how i learn

Hmm... Well, I'm not all that smart so feel free to ignore what I say but personally I enjoy "Game Design: Secrets of the Sages (Second Edition)" (you can find it at http://www.halfpricecomputerbooks.com/book/1575954133 but I'm not sure if that's a good buy or not). It's just a starter kit but oh well. ^_^' I think it's a good teaching tool.

There should be two CD's that come with it. In addition to the actual program there is another disk that gives you tutorials on how to design different things and such. It's very fun, but it might not be what you're looking for.

(Personally I'd get something like that to make sure you like it before getting something like Borland or anything...)

borland is a c++ compiler. you can get alot of free decent ones on the net.. i have a good one but i forgot its name lol.. something like blood dev c++ or sumthing i will try and find real name latter

I know it's a compiler... and maybe I'm the only person like this... but if I get a complier that doesn't come with it's own step by step tutorial of the language or if I don't have a book that explains how to program in that language, chances are I'm not going to learn that language. :/

That's why I suggested something with a good tutorial. If you aren't like me in that way then just ignore that, though.

I have never heard of a good C++ complier that you could get for free... last I looked they all pretty much stunk if they were free. >.< But then I haven't messed with that language for about half a year to a year now. :/

BloodShed Dev C++ Compiler it is really good... and oh yea good point lol sorry i jus pick things up really fast :/ i read 1 online guide for C and that basicly taught me all the basics etc and as its similar to C++ i read a few tuts on that and now i know all the basics there as well

i'v been using the bloodshed C++ compiler for quite some time...its a favorite of mine and many of my friends. i'd say thats ur best bet.

OMG only use his if u wanna spend cash on buying borland.....

But if you are serious, buy MicroSoft Visual Studio! (Or torrents- ooops i didnt type that )
