Hey i want to learn how to learn C++ but the only tuts i can find is crappy lame ones to say Hello, Im blah blah blah.

I want to learn how to C++ so i can eventually learn how to make a private server core by myself.

Well, these "useless" Hello World type examples is a good start to learn the basic syntax. If you have a good tutorial, you'll get introduced with different types of variables and arrays of variables, etc. All of this is important before you can understand networking and other parts of programming.

Here's a tutorial: http://www.cplusplus.com/doc/tutorial/
Even I used it myself, half year ago, when learning the basics of C++.

l'm also learning c++
Console development

I will post some tutorials later; Beep App, GumbaII Machine, and some other things.

Thanks.

I just installed VB 2008 EE and it says "requested Registy permission denied" or something like that. So im applying a fix i found and then im going to restart and hope to god it works.

VB has nothing to do with C++...

I went to microsoft.com and i found their C++ program... So thats not right? Dangit ive wasted so much time trying to fix it.

Can you give me a good noob friendly C++ program?

And whats the difference between C++ and C#? Which one is easier? And whatever the easier one is would it help me learn how to make server cores?

The Microsoft compiler is Visual C++, commonly referred to as VC++. C++ is at one end of a scale, on the other end is Java. C# is in the middle of that scale. It's like C++ gives you better control over the system or better response, and Java gives you which ever one C++ doesn't, so C# is the balance between the two.

So i should learn C# first? I want to learn how to make emulators for Flyff or WoW.

I just downloaded Dev-C++ is that a good program?

depends on what you want to program. Try a little bit of c#, and then try and equal amount of c++. Pick then.

P.S. You need a c# compiler to compile c#, in which case you should use microsoft visual c# 2008 express edition. and .net is a framework, not a platform. And recently, microsoft signed a contract which makes c# compilable and usable on other operating systems (still a major work in progress to get it up-to-date though)

The best way I found out was learning Hello World first, u should be able to make it in 1 min.
then, look up some sources, then try to make the exact same as the source you have.
So, look at a source, learn it. Thats what I did ^^
I can almost make a fully working Text based game. Look up my source posted somewhere.
