I'm newbie for vmware

i'm install vmware & centos guide by video on here
and i set ip for centos
IP : 192.168.1.8
subnet : 255.255.255.0
gateway : 192.168.1.254
primary nameserver : 192.168.1.1
i can't ping 192.168.1.1 & 192.168.1.254 -*-
my winSCP cant' connect too
can't connect to internet from vmware too
my pc have lan onboard & adsl modem external
what should I do next ??
ps. i got this error
The network Bridge on device VMnet0 is temporarily down because the Bridged Eternet interface is down
The virtual machine may not be able to communicate with the host or with other machines on your network.
can someoone introduce me step by step for his problem ??
