Cant Login

I feel terrible for asking because ive set a server up before but it was on win xp with sql 2000 so its been a while, i just wanted to try some builds before i started playing kal again...
I followed the guides that i found for sql 2005 i have the authsvr dbsvr and mainsvr running the main had errors with hackshield but that not an issue for me i dont plan on opening it to everyone (until i get better with all of this.) im using the webadmin v.2 server files and when i open the client and go to login it does nothing just sits there... It also says local server so i think theres a setting somewhere i might need to change. ive also gone to all the settings files and changed the ip addresses to 127.0.0.1

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
(ive been looking through posts and some people have the same issue but i didnt see any answers sorry if i over looked them)

I'm getting the CSocket error if that helps i found a tutorial using the search function(imagine that) however i cant seem to find a good engine packer and the unprecompact doesnt do anything to the file (that i notice) if anyone has a name of a engine packer i can go and find it myself or you can provide the link. i think im pretty close to finishing this one i also tried using vladi's server files and that one just gets the hack detection and closes even after i put the proper md5 sums in the config file
