Hmmm I think you need to code ASD tools separately and edit some of the server part to get u connected. The server part is built on Delphi Platform which uses SQL Server using Borland Database Engine. But i dont know why you dont want to use SQL Server? It is well know for its concistency and security, the next follows Finnacle.

Yep. Navicat can be used. Just re-edit the DB's to work with MySQL. It's pretty neat.
