Hi all,

I have fixed the Combat Arms Launcher and have attached it here. Copy and paste CombatArms.exe and Connect.cfg in your game client folder. Update the attributes in your "Connect.cfg" file to match your server details or the server you wish to connect to, such as IP Address, Client Version, and Game Path.

Issue:

The launcher source code was incomplete, where the game will not start if you click the "Game Start" button. This was because the launcher only starts the game through Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC). If EAC failed to initialise, or if it's missing, the launcher will never reach Engine.exe. I have made it compatible with or without EAC.

Solution:
  • remove the hard dependency on successful EAC initialisation before attempting launch.
  • keep the EAC launch path when EAC is available.
  • add a direct fall back launch of Engine.exe when EAC is unavailable or not initialised.
  • add an error message if Engine.exe still cannot be started.
  • clean up the launch code so it uses the correct working directory and closes process handles properly.

Additional features:
  • Enabled button links.
  • Updated Portuguese buttons to English Buttons.
  • Translated remaining Portuguese text to English text.
  • Replaced background HTML design to a Photo Design. (Compatible with HTML & Photos).
  • Implemented an algorithm to rotate different background photos every 4 seconds.
  • Launcher closes after game starts.

Feel free to use my launcher and bin the start.bat file!

Cheers and good luck,

Maximus

I was the one who told you to enter the IP address in the config file and change the language
That may be true, The initial problem was the launcher was trying to launch with the anti cheat and that is why it wasn't opening.

Yeah, the start button simply doesn't work if you don't have EAC enabled. I've added additional code to make it compatible with or without EAC, and some neat extra features.

Note: the launcher will only work if you have Combat Arms in your registry keys. Either manually insert it or install a random Combat Arms client, so the registry gets added via the installation process. I could remove the registry dependency though in the source code.

Everyone will need to add an IP address, or else they won't be able to connect to their server or other servers, lol.
