Last couple of week`s I`ve been reading Ron/Night/Etc.. tutorials about editing textures and such. It have been extremely helpful and I pretty much can handle myself alone when comes to edit already known skins.

What I was wondering, if it was possible to create a new skin. Lets say I want to create a black Valkyrie, but I want to leave the original blue intact. I imagine that it is pretty much possible and I even can grasp some ways to do it, I was just wanted to know if there`s a solid method to approach this matter.

ps: I`ve used the search before, I just couldn't find anything about creating NEW skins. Only editing existing ones. I may have missed something, if I did, please forward me the link.

for that, you need to add a copy of the model (and any linked files). Since textures are linked to a msh directly, yo cant have two different textures any other way.
Then use the model code in item.dat/weaponitem for what ever u wanted it to.

Simple as that? Besides the Mesh file, which other files are associated directly to the new texture?

none. the texture is linked to the msh in the .msh file itself - only other place would be resource.dat where u set the texture folder location, but if u keep it at default location, then it remains same (ofc when u add a copy of a model, need to create new entries for it in resource.dat)

Well ye it is not hard to do it. All you need is to seperate *msh files out of rfs pack. If you want to make different texture for it you need to open msh via hex editor, then change texture files which are linked to that model(search for *dds). 2nd thing is to edite Resource.edf adding new block into it. Magenik posted tutorial for it . Make sure that you are adding it to specific category. And about msh codes, while adding new thing make sure that specific code is available, becouse if it won't be game might crash while logging.
