I came across something very, very, interesting.

The idea of CSS doing similar things as flash is already here!

Have you ever wanted to make buttons and things move, rotate or fade out without using any GIF images, just CSS? It's already possible to use PHP to create a gradient affect with CSS. No images required. I think you guys should check this out. Alot of people think that CSS will eventually replace flash. If you have Safari Browser, you will see it in action. It doesn't work with IE or firefox yet, but it will probably be implemented in the next update for both.

Check it out!

Edit: You need the latest version of WebKit for it to work. You can get that from the above website.

You also need The Safari browser, get that here:

Nice, I always hated JavaScript. I dislike the whole HTML stuff anyways, way too bloated and non-strict.

Nice alternative :), but they'll have to build it into browsers automatically ;)

Tell me, how would one go about of building a webpage consisting only of php/css?
well i didnt understand the question, are you asking how to build a site only of php and css??

Code:
PHP File:

<?php
<link href=\"layout.css\" rel=\"stylesheet\" type=\"text/css\" />

echo "<div id=\"header\"></div><br />
<div id=\"content\">PHP && CSS Owns</div>";

?>

CSS File:
div#header {
   height: 100px;
   width: 500px;
   background-img: images/header.gif;
}

div#content {
   height: auto;
   width: 500px;
   min-height: 50px;
   background-color: #000000;
}

in unsure of the css part, specially the background part... but it is possible... =/

Looks like HTML to me.

under a php code O_O"... php is a integration to html allowing more stuff isnt it... all html codes are compatible with php, php codes are not compatible with html....

the \\ and the fact that they are under echo without closing php script... makes them php

All clear, one thing that all webdevelopers do what they can to avoid mixing languages, so in order to change the template they do not have edit the core ( php in this case ) just the html templates, that's what for smarty, xslt templates were invented for. And still HTML is HTML even if it's nested in php.

Let's examine the names, or acronyms actually, PHP and HTML.

HTML: Hypertext mark up language.
PHP: Pre hypertext processor. (Well, hypertext preprocessor actually, but alas.)

What does this tell you? That's right, php is used to customize HTML and no matter how awesome and beautiful you're php code is, in the end it's still gonna output something in plain html. (Ofcourse there are exceptions but that's not the point here.)

my bad then -_-" no wonder why the world is what it is! no1 can get a mistake once a while cuz it becomes an idiot uh?
excuse me misters know it all! //ojala los atropellen malditos u_u

nothing else to say... the point is, CSS ownz.

eh hunny hunny, don't get frustrated, i didn't say that CSS is crap as is not, just the point is it will be long time before they make it universal, as for HTML so far i don't see an alternative so far despite it's quite crapy, also i didn't say that you have made the mistake, i just told you the general goals in current webdeveloping at least in the envoirment i work and people i know.

As well if i would know all i wouldn bother myself as webdeveloper in a small company.
