Can we see some front-end work on the Index page? I'd like to see what it's going to look like before I make suggestions :P

Haven't gotten around to making any major design changes on the home page yet:

Note that rankings should look that way (for now), I removed all the old <table> code.

There's certainly some life here! The only problem with Bootstrap is it's a tad bland. Once there's some color in there, get looking like a good and proper Maplestory CMS, it'll be dandy.

So far only a few things come to mind, most of which have already been mentioned here and it's all backend work.

-Security
-Code Cleanups
-Structure Changes.

Structure changes mind you are completely optional, but say if someone wanted to fit everything into 2 columns as apposed to the 3 we see here, they could do so if the code was properly labeled.

IE. <!-- Header --> and such like that.

A little praise on top of my suggestions, I'm super glad someone actually saw a project through on Ragezone. It's a rare sight these days!

The great part about bootstrap is that the grid can be changed with ease. Once I get back from my trip (leaving for ~3 weeks), I may add a templating system where people can choose between 3 column, 2 column left, or 2 column right. As for the design, that'll be the very last thing to do. I'm also planning on adding a fullwidth slider to the site.

I'm willing to help with the desing of cype reboot if greenelfx's want me to do so.

sure!

Just some last goals before I leave tomorrow:
-Add code commenting
- Modify SQL file to reflect latest changes
- Keep working on fixing the mail feature
- Add voting page, with cinos11's script. Modify it to be easily configurable in the admin panel
- Rearrage admin panel to be easier to find stuff.

Update 1: Ajax login

Update 2: Decided to forgo the nicEdit.js for users, and make it only accessible for admins and GMs.
I also decided to get rid of Cype's old bbCode parsing, and implement a newer one. Here's a demo:
(Still need to do some formatting/add box where people can see what bbcode is allowed)

Just a little heads up for the OP: If you're using Cype's old code, I would suggest filtering user input some more. I found multiple XSS vulnerabilities in the ticketing system and elsewhere. As an example, some user can theoretically insert HTML code into a ticket and when the admins/GMs look at the ticket, the session cookie may be stolen and the hacker can gain access to the admin's session. As suggested by a friend, I would use the following function to filter user input:
Code:
echo htmlentities($str, ENT_QUOTES);

lol back in the day i found a sql injection exploit that worked with cype

idk if this exists anymore but

Well this isn't a complete CMS, so I have no idea. The latest revisions broke the site completely, and introduced many vulnerabilities due to half complete meekrodb migration. Maybe just wait for a bit til I get back and I'll help you out! (Also please keep the svn to yourself for now, don't want to people to be using a CMS with vulnerabilities!)

Ok,,, thanks for your reply...

Hey greenelfx, I'm wondering why you decided to move over from the vanilla MySQLi to MeekroDB, although the security is supposedly better and markup shorter. What is your reason for switching over? Also I was wondering why you or other people use MySQL/MySQL library's preferably over other databases such as MongoDB which is a NoSQL type of database and SQLite. I can see how SQLite might not be as used however NoSQL databases seem to be growing more, especially when it might come to mobile devices.

MekroDB is basically MySQLi with extensions(which are optimization, security, and easier execution).

I see, so it should be more of a standardized thing then? So if anyone were to create a cms using mysqli there would be no reason not to use meekrodb?

Not necessarily, it has some limitations.

Note: I'm looking for alpha testers for the website. Please PM me if you're interested!
Edit2: I have accepted two alpha testers, and won't be adding any more, unless you are a (beginning or experienced) web developer.

If you're interested in using this CMS, I will open up beta testing in less than a month.

I will continue to update this thread once I return home (in about two weeks).

Updates:
- Temporarily removed MeekroDB. I don't have enough time to rewrite all the queries, due to school!
- Started alpha testing, revamped installation completely. If you've used Wordpress before, then you'll be right at home with Cype's installation. All you have to do is load the files on your web server, run the installer, and you're done! No need to edit files or create any install lock files!
-Started on new adminUI.
- Upgraded Cype to Bootstrap v3 (still working on this).
- Thinking about offloading all CSS to bootstrap CDNs.
- Looking at a public Alpha release this week!

Will you be uploading a new SVN I would like to keep tabs on the progress.

I'd like to pop in as an Alpha tester just to keep everyone updated.

We've switched over to Github for the time being and it's going pretty gosh darn well. We've fixed a lot of core issues and best of all there aren't any SQL files to execute. The installer creates the Database populates it and sends you on your way. All in all it's coming along nicely
