Destiny 2 Shadowkeep - Private Server

Over a years worth of work has gone into this, granted it is not perfect. But we have a working Destiny 2 Shadowkeep private server up and running, at last.
Yep, a few days after Bungie decided to announce they would un-vault all the old content.......
Anyway, I don't trust Bungie anymore so we are going ahead anyway.

A lot of work has been done on the backend but it is still early days. I have made it so the backend is designed to take on high availability so lots of users with multiple relays (P2P traffic), services (chat, fireteams etc) and session hosts (what binds together the game sessions).

My goal is to get it as close to the orignal as possible, with some QOL changes.

The project is rooted on my own reverse engineering work but a lot of improvements and advances have been made thanks to Project Sunrise.
The backend fully supports their scripting so hopefully as people submit the missions, open world and raid scripts, that will all feed into the private server.

The project is called D2c, aka Destiny 2 Classic.

Like I said, it is early days. It is a bit buggy and a lot of the content is locked behind scripts that are not yet released.

Fireteams do work but you can lag out.

There are multiple session hosts that spread out the Player <-> Server load but I have yet to load test these.

I am running a play test this weekend on live servers. You are invited to join.

Little update since posting.

Server side has had massive work done to it. Now fully working on Linux and reduced the overheads so we have gone from multiple GB of RAM and decent amount of CPU usage even at idle to <1000MB for the whole stack including database.
You could run this on a Raspberry Pi...

Also added multiple regions so you can now connect to a local server relay and session host so that players near you are all within a low latency.
Makes PvP so much better than having the servers located in another region and you end up with 150+ ms of ping.
(client image on the right was done with a VPN to the US so still shows high latency but you get the point)

Fireteam invites and chat are now working. Fireteam invites go to the overlay.

I also wish to share some QOL ideas I have had with the game to make the experience better.
Some of these should have been in the game since Day 1 and not even the live game has some of this.

Overlay Fireteam Finder
Allows players to list their Fireteam and activity they wish to do. Players can openly join or request invite.
Fireteam hosts can set light level requirements, player role requirements etc

Overlay player stats
View your own player stats as well as others from the overlay. This includes character info, strike/raid/mission stats etc

Overlay DIM
Access DIM from the overlay, no need to tab out to your web browser. Easily move items from storage to your character when you need them.

Connection info and server stats in the overlay
View live data in regards to your connection to the regional servers. Allows you to debug any issues and blame your aim on bad connection.
