i fixed the problems with my database restoring then i installed centos with the guide of fix and
i used chumpyserver pack like in the tutorial of fix.
after that he makes some settings with his LAN or whatever which i don't get because it goes so fast.
then he uses winSCP to make a connection from the root to his ip or centos ip which i don't get because i get the error:

then i press login and i get this:

if someone could help me with this i would be really happy!

Is the vmware centos machine running? Are you connecting to the right IP?

You have to connect to the IP address you gave centos. You can check using the "ifconfig" command in centos.

Its default by DHCP, 192.168.1.9 subnetmask 255.255.255.0 and Standard-gateway is 192.168.1.1 but if i change it to 192.168.2.1 it doesn't work either or if i change it to 192.168.2.2

That is why. Centos must be on the same subnet as windows. Make centos 192.168.1.20 with a gateway of 192.168.1.1. 2 different subnets (192.168.2.x is different) cannot talk to each other without specific routes being added manually and the gateway is the nearest router the connections can use for routing so that should be the same was windows (the router ip).

so i put in centos:
IP: 192.168.1.20
subnetmask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.1

and in my lan connection:
IP: 192.168.1.1
subnetmask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway:192.168.1.1

Or something?

and what do i type in winscp then?

ip: 192.168.1.2
login:root
pw: the pw i use for centos
and then scp as protocol?

I got a problem too at WinSCP, connection refused.

Start a new topic with your own details as having two similar problems on the same topic gets confusing. See what is posted above for an example of what i need to see.
