I Have never used Flash, but would like to learn it.

What Programs are good for Coding Flash, I heard it cant be coded in gedit.

My Operating System
--------------------------
Ubuntu Linux 9.04
Kernal version 2.6.28-11-generic
--------------------------

Also what would be some good references?

Thanks for your time and support.

Sincerely,

I will see what else I can find or what people can recommend.
Doesn't have a great rating, User Rating: Fair (2.4/5)

BTW: Linux is a great operating system if you put aside its lack of support for windows Programs.
I use it more than I ever used windows

Well Linux has become sort of a type of operating system.. There are numerous operating systems that run under a UNIX kernel. MAC does as well. Ubuntu should have pretty good support comparatively to other Linux OS's. I'm sure there's been a number of Flash Developers who utilize Ubuntu, (for example these guys: http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/flash), I'm sure you'll find something out there ;)

The above link is for getting flash to work with firefox, (like for viewing flash movies in Ubuntu). This link below should eventually guide you through both if you click the link at the bottom (Also provided)

Good luck!

here is a suggestion...

use linux for linux related productions
and use WINDOWS for windows related productions...

gezzz people really like to complicate things.

I will not dual boot i refuse to. I use virtual box that runs a Legit Copy of Windows XP Home Edition, I would prefer to install a Flash software to Linux and not the virtual box.
The more I can stay out of windows, the better. I seriously hate windows.
I only use it to get on Luna Online, which I only get on it about maybe once or twice a week for about 30 mins.
