::Step 8::

Edit the host file to connect to your server

Find the host file in "C:/windows/system32/drivers/etc". Go ahead and right click open and select notepad from the list. Add this line to play alone. Or if you are connecting to a server, their respective IP.

127.0.0.1 l2authd.lineage2.com

It can be added at the bottom of whatever you have in there currently, on its own line. Save and exit.

THEN CONNECT TO YOU SERV !!!!

And Read Next Time All Carefully...

thanks virus finally it works.
anyway i did install everything but there is no char_inventory and char_warehouse so how can i put weapon in my char. ( i copied from oldone but still not working)
also if u open lvlupgain file it only has level1 to level 57,it is ok to run.

You are using an SQL server... all CHAR_INVENTOEY and CHAR_WAREHOUSE stores in you MySQL database.

here, ill try again... The host method is not working for (me) and thats why i had to find out how to decrypt and i did and im playing and so long sucker.

Arideus also i will help you... i will try.

This method is the best at this time.
A little explain.

If you use localhost as you server (127.0.0.1) you should set:
127.0.0.1 l2authd.lineage2.com

If you using some one other IP you should set you ip which you have written in you server.cfg (if its 10.11.12.13 you should write 10.11.12.13 l2authd.lineage2.com there)

Look in you Firewall rules and disable Windows Firewall bcause it suxx a little bit. Sometimes it blocks all connections.
if you use some Antivirus with built-in filrewall check the rules for you server. It can define it like trojan horse connection.

I'm using Agnitum Outpost Firewall and to allow connections to localhost i shoudt add ne rule for 127.0.0.1.

After you added you IP to HOSTS try to restart you machine.

dude... Win XP 1Gb RAm , 1 mb upload .. 2,6 ghz p4 etc etc everything is working fine! i just cant connect to my server >_>

the hosts thing works on ALL machines so far tested

but you need to RESTART

the dye error messages are because dye ISNT IMPLEMENTED YET (at least in the release i have here - the server starter just says you that it doesnt know that item type !!!)

i think hosts thing is working fine with win xp
but win 98 is not working .
so anybody knows about that.

=>server , winxp pro

=>client 1, win98 (put hosts) not working

=> client 2, winxp (put hosts) working

yo.. mine l2c3 server is working great... i can enter but by starting the server... the character is falling down into the wather and i'm dead than... it looks like a bug or something can somebody explain me how to fix this?

look at this picture... after he falled from the sky then he's going die... and it's not doing anything... i just entered and he's falling from the sky to the ground..
it's not starting on the ground at the land.. :eh:

new full_install.bat not modded just edited to fix a couple spelling mistakes :icon6:

@sapphire try changin where the char start position is not sure how to do it but looks like it might be your problem

when i run startserver i get "error occurred during initialization of VM java.lang.nullpointerexception"

i have installed java 1.4.0 my Path look like this:
