[Guild Wars] Packet encryption

Here are a few more screenshots for your viewing pleasure. Apparently ANet never gets rid of skills. A few of those skills are from beta. I especially love the REMOVE skills :P
I unlocked all of these skills because I figured out that skills are represented by individual bits in the zone data in a certain section. If the bit which represent a skill is zero,
then the client does not have that skill. If it is set to 1 then they do have that skill.

You guys are really coming along, good job guys.

great job fantastic project and a lan lock mean you can only play it over

(local area network) ex. only in your house with friends

Yes its just 0/1, but it took me a long time to figure out where it was in the zone data. Our main concern is to keep the emulator from being seen as a threat by Area Net, and we are doing everything possible to comply with their standards. We do not want our emulator ending up like the City of Heroes emulator.

One other thing, we have no yet released a beta version because there is not really enough functionality as of yet to allow people to play. The combat system, skill system, quest system, and other similar things are incredibly complex and it will take a while for us to completely implement them. Once we have the ability to handle multiple people connected, we plan to setup a public test server where people can log in to a zone of our choosing. At this point, multiple people connecting would cause people's gw clients to crash since I have not yet implemented unique local ID's and spawn ID's to each person in the zone.

By the way here are a few screenshots, I figured out how to set whatever zone I want to load into :D
Those are with the zone ID set to lion's arch, and the actual zone where you load set to the respective areas you see below. The compass is set to show the overhead of lion's arch.

so keep doing the good job, and ill come on check posts later :)

cya all for now

He is just saying what will most likely be the case for the emulator. Quest, missions, and story line will be incredibly difficult to implement due to the fact that the data is just too massive for us to comprehend and implement. For example, the packets associated with quests are very large (larger than 1000 bytes) and all of it is unknown data. It already difficult to figure out what 1 byte - 4 bytes mean, try multiplying that by 1000.

If anyone has any information regarding quest packets, I would be happy to implement the feature. Otherwise I am not going to waste time on something that will be nearly impossible to implement anyway. Unfortunately I do not have unlimited time to work on this project. The features we will add however will make using this emulator unique when compared to the actual guild wars servers. A few things I was thinking of implementing are monsters in towns, new abilities such as being able to drag an opponent into a trap, being able to fight in towns against other people, and being able to loot their bodies in certain areas. I'm open to any suggestions people have on features, just let me know.

LOL, I don't know how this happened but it looks awesome. There is a black hole in lion's arch (on the emulated gw server):
