This build fixes a bug which caused GW to seemingly freeze on computers with a CPU speed of less than 3.2 ghz. Thanks silentg0d for helping figure out the problem. =)
If you are interested in helping you can help gather armor ID's.
------------Armor Set ID's-----------
I need help collecting the armor ID's for each set of armor in the game. The armor ID controls what armor the character currently wears. Whether it be Obsidian, Ascalon, Krytan, Elonian, Canthan, etc. Note: Armor ID's are the same for both male and female of the same profession.
Requires:
- Active Guild Wars account. The amount of campaigns should not matter.
- The current version of the packet dump program.
- A hex editor. Hex Workshop for example.
- Ability to follow instructions and maintain quality.
How-to:
- Start Guild Wars and login. Acquire the armor set you want to capture. You must be wearing the full set. Not mixes and matches(except for the headpiece). Be sure to don the armor. Make note of the character name.
- Log-out.
- Load the packet dump program.
- Log in.
- When at the character selection screen close Guild Wars.
- Open your hex editor.
- In Windows Explorer open the Dump folder where the packet are saved.
- There should be at least three. You want the first large one. Probably over 1000 bytes in size.
- Open this file up in your hex editor.
First we need to find the packet header. This is the first four bytes of the packet(0700 is the start of the packet) and are normally the first two bytes of the file. Your file will probably not look like mine in most place. I zeroed out information I suspect could be used to identify my account and changed the character names.

Next we need to identify where all the packets start. Select the first four bytes(two columns) as I have done in the above image. Next go to Tools -> Color Mapping -> Add Mapping. Uncheck "Use Default Background Color" and select a background color. Medium blue or green works well.
[See image 1]
We need to identify the bytes that come just before the next packet. So find your characters name in in the file. It is stored in Unicode. So it will appear something like this, C.h.a.r.a.c.t.e.r. N.a.m.e.> Find the next packet header from the end of the character name.
[See image 1]
We need 0x19 of the bytes starting from the back. So select the byte just before the next packet header backward until your total selection is -0x19 bytes.

Copy these bytes(Make sure you copy the part with the numbers(hex view), not the one with all the dots and letters(ascii view). CTRL+C, Edit -> Copy, or Right-click the selection and select copy.
You have another choice, you can either figure out the id and format it properly or you can paste what you copied here. If you paste what you copied someone who knows what they are doing will take it, extract the id's, and format it and it will be inserted into the armors.ini file with credit going to both you and the extractor.
Note: Be sure to state what primary profession the character you copied these bytes is in addition to informing which armor set this is for.
------How to extract the ID's from the hex bytes--------
It's quite simple. There are five pieces of armor per character. Head, Chest, Arms, Legs, and Feet. Each of these ID's is two bytes in length. Followed with three bytes that make up the dye color the armor is dyed.
So to make things simple. Go to File -> New and paste the bytes you copied.
[insert image 5]
The first two bytes are the head armor ID.
Skip three bytes.
The next two bytes are for the chest.
Skip three bytes.
The next two bytes are for the arms.
Skip three bytes.
The next two bytes are for the legs.
Skip three bytes.
The next two bytes are for the feet.
Formatting the information properly:
- State what primary profession the character the ID's are from is.
- The armors.ini file follows the following format
- {Armor set name here}
Head=head id;
Chest=chest id;
Arms=arms id;
Legs=legs id;
Feet=feet id;
- Ex.
- {Ascalon}
Head=5d00;
Chest=5b00;
Arms=5c00;
Legs=5e00;
Feet=5a00;
- Say the head id is "8d00" DO NOT convert this to decimal. So the head ID in the ini file would be: 8d00;
Post the formatted information. If there are any corrections needed they will be made and at some point the armor set will be tested. If it does not work properly you and if necessary the poster of the bytes will be informed.
