English:
I found some interesting monsters, but on the summons them off my server, I think it's because the smd is locked.

Well anyone know smt unlock files?

Portuguese:
Achei alguns monstros interessantes, porem ao sumona-los meu servidor desliga, creio que seja por causa que o smd esteja bloqueado.

Bem alguem sabe desbloquear arquivos smd?

SMD files are binary data... they are not encrypted, obfuscated or "locked" in any way.

However. uPT do use a custom header, to prevent others from stealing their custom artwork.

It's easy to replace, but since it's also easy to spot artworks stolen from another private server, I don't recommend doing so, and am not about to describe that process in detail.

I will tell you that MIB do hold tutorials in Portuguese, and specific tools for rewriting the headers in uPT SMD files, in case you hadn't seen them. I don't think the discussion is appropriate among developers, but you seem more conversant with Portuguese than I, and MIB clearly don't consider it beyond their remit.

Personally, I would like to replace as much of the closed code and artwork from the official PT with custom implementations we have created here and shared with each other, rather than add to the already dubious material with stuff that is definitely not for public consumption and re-use.

All uniquept monsters you can find them in the release section..and skins you always can steall then i cant believe that someone can LOCK a monster file[smd] only if he created a new one.

About MIB would be nice if you post the link here..we all can use google translator to read it.
Thanks

Yea... sorry, still working on the laptop. :(: Can't find MIB, or my password (which MIB forced me to make silly complex and is stored on my main box) Sorry about that.

Err... well, a clue. If you search your game.exe for the string "SMD" you will find one that is something like "SMD Version 0.8" or some such... and you will also find that string at the start of every SMD in your client folder. uPT use a different string of bytes which looks like rubbish in ASCII... but it's the same length, and still the exact same string in every file. The same is true of SMBs.

So, now you can "protect" your artwork the same way rPT/uPT have.

It's not much protection, I know. But people do get so very upset. Artists; you know. I've heard several private PT artists climbing up the wall and threatening to quit if the coders don't find some way to stop their meshes and textures ending up in EVERY other private PT server that didn't pay them for their work, and to whom they are not even affiliated just a week after it is release to players. On the other hand, there are old posts here where Sandurr admits that he paid an artist for what later turned out to be weapons ripped out of World of Warcraft... He'd never played it, and so was none the wiser till his players piped up. If 20th Century Fox, let alone Blizzard can't stop people stealing their artwork, what chance does anyone have?

I wouldn't personally "steal" custom textures and models which have not been posted here for general use, or given with a very open license elsewhere.

There are simply tonnes of Creative Commons meshes and textures floating around the web, and it doesn't take a 3D bod long to give them the right animation and save them as an ASE... I could probably do it myself, eventually, and without the animation. XD

Swords and what-not don't actually animate, so that's all good.

Okay... some level of mains electric has been restored, so I can get to my bookmarks and passwords again.

The MIB thread link is

It contains a program to "deblock" UniquePT SMDs.
