ICS, Ports Windows And Servers

I have two PC running on adsl and im using windows internet connection sharing (ICS) and it closes all the ports on my PC so I can't make a server ftp,games and so on .

Can anyone tell me how I solve this problem so I can make game servers like half-life,mir2,quake and so on, do you know of any ICS software that might help or a tool to help me run servers ??? I don't know much about it so Im a bit stumped.....

hi

you need a server operating system... like windows 2000 server

edition or XP server (but i recomand you win2000 server)

and ther you have all the option to close port, to open

port and stuff like that !!! :good:

yes W2K would be better but make sure u get all the service packs or u will have a lot of bugs and i u might have trouble running games if u dont

buy a router or rauter or something

yes get a router or a hub and use ics with a hub or have a router and get both comps to connect to that. easy
