[JAVA] need help with a calendar

so i was originally given this project to do in c# as my beginning project and i've never touched c# before in my life so i decided i'd finish one in java first

does anyone have any idea as to where i can get started i've researched tuts on how to make them online and most of the time i found either pay sites or sites that gave you java calendar applets to load on you webpage..

i have no idea how to even start this thing...

and im using netbeans 6.0.1
