Just took a look at Pokemon World Online's trailer.

That's some serious work there. Looks really good. It would be great to code up Pokenet like that.

Pokemon world online isnt coded in java, since pokenet is it will be a bit more difficult to get our UI to the same level as theirs. Also they have a follow script and a lot more user based commands, im sure we could get to something close to that but we would have to fix a lot of the bugs first.

Id have to assume that most of the stuff would have to be recoded to even be stable enough to run publicly. yet alone having to redo the whole interface and multiple pages to show as is.

Honestly the server is stable its the client thats fucked in a lot of places, the movement needs to be revamped, the movement basically is set so it only moves your char when the directional key is pressed twice, so if you press it once or do not hold it down it will just turn the char in that direction, which ultimately gives the feeling of lag. The items need fixing, the potions dont work, and only 4 pokeballs are coded into the client. (thats the pokeball, greatball, ultraball, and masterball.)

Also, sabrina doesnt work, she dc's the client, and then there is also the matter of trainers giving extra exp, which i have fixed in my files. Also there are about 4 maps missing in the current regions, and shinies need to be implemented (the database and client can handle them, they sprites just need to be added to the res folder). Along with the four maps the other 2 regions (not including 5th gen) need to be added, and then the sprites and tiles should be updated aswell. These are just a few things that should be done before revamping the UI and everything.

Seeds are working fine also ...
I agree with you about the movement, it must be re-coded ...
I don't know about regions and trainers, i just creating all from 0 ( Fire Island, Water Island, etc.. ) with the scenario ...

a small part of the movement problem is due to the sprite for example look at the way your sprite walks den change the sprite to this one and compare it. i made it look alot less choppy when they walk and alot more fluent.

I'm planning to code in the other regions as well as update the graphics, I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

I think the GUI is fine, except there could be a few changes to make it look better than it is already. Bag needs to be updated as well. I agree with movement lol. It's ridiculous. Gotta change the "Awaiting your move" to autotext so you just click once.

Who here knows Java?

OMG, this is a SERIOUS MATTER..
PWO is getting better and better..
Can we really match them w/ pokenet??
But there's no competition so its fine(who wants to compete w/ them?)..
Let's just continue the good work here on pokenet guys, we're counting on you!!
The GUI of pokenet is good, we can leave that for now and work on the walking stuffs right?
GJ and GL to all of you guys, you're the best!

Uhm, create a new clean client from a 2D Game maker like Eclipse?
That's only my suggestion, the decision not mine..
But we can try create one it right?
So that we can compare the new client and pokenet and see what client is much better to use..
Java = hard coded, so many command lines(i guess)
Eclipse = easy to code and easy to use and like VB style?
I don't really know if im right or wrong w/ my comparison about this two but who knows, maybe Eclipse will do fit on the server.. :D:
