Making a small, simple installer

Hi,
i will explain how to make an easy installer using UHARC (winUHA).

-Download UHARC:

To view the content, you need to sign in or register

-Install UHARC.
-Run winUHA

In winUHA:
-browse to the client that needs to be installed on other machines.
-select the files
-click "add selected" (a window is popping up now)

-Choose these options:

-check "Create archive and add files"
-include subdirectories
-select "store full paths" (from the dropdown menu)
-use"Create SFX archive"
-choose "ALZ 3" compression (from the dropdown menu)
-make sure "multimedia compression" is enabled
-leave the other settings alone...

-Now go to SFX tab, and check these options:

-Select the winUHA02.sfx module

-Click OK
-Ure 'Installer' is being made now






Why i chose UHARC: its a very good compression tool, that can compress 4gb to 100 mb for some kind of files. It has a larger compression then Winrar and other compression tools, so it will be good for your bandwitch.

tried to compress an mu client, it failed. didnt compress the sound file in different characters, and just discontinued the compression.

but nice guide, it might prove useful for other files.

Install Creator (its very easy to use )

This is a awsome program thanks for posting. I was able to compress my server 38.5MB to 3.2MB so I could send it to a friend and he could extract it. So if you want small this is the thing to get. You do not need this program to use the SFX because its just like a installer.

thx, , before you post this , i used winrar for self extracting/advanced .exe, but if you say it copresses the files better than winrar.. I'll deffinetly try it, thx again , and release more amazing posts ..>keep it on<

Uhuh ... and what kind of a processor\amount of time do you need to UNpack such a archive ?
I prefer InstallShield 12 ....)

Use Install Shield ... WinUha it's a big **** too much CPU when it's started.

Uharc has a better compression rate
