MapleStory Client/Localhost Archive

Added KMS 1.2.3 and 1.2.46

1.2.3 is the first version of guilds, modernized quests, and some more
1.2.46 has pre-release pirate content based on KMST they had up at the time, dated October 2007. Pirates came out in December of 2007.

I know the Korean community is very pesky about sharing clients for one reason or another, but sharing it is better than letting it rot on your hard drive. KMS very often has pre-release content, because its the first region that had a lot of content.

If you have any KMS versions not found on the list (pre-big bang especially), consider sharing it or contacting me. If needed I can keep you completely anonymous.

I am still working on fixing download links.

HI,everyone. I'm iooking for a MSEA V234 client(6th job 2nd mastery core version),but no idea where i can find it.
After checking on found there is a setup file for it(MSEA 234).
Much apprechiated if anyone can share it. Very thanks.

I think no one has mentioned this, but I do believe the CMS V64 and V65 clients are not really “broken”. They are actually zip files, just compressed with an old Chinese app called 快压 (KuaiZip). This app was quite notorious even back then, because it entered the Chinese internet scene when many netizens were ignorant about file compression and were lured into using its services. I’m not very knowledgeable about coding, but I tried putting the files ending in .exe into a hex editor and I did see a Zip file header. I also tried installing the app on a virtual Windows XP machine. The app could launch, but after reading the V64 and V65 files it kept crashing — I think it's because the service it tries to connect to is no longer available — making it impossible to unzip the files. The problem is that KuaiZip and the company behind it stopped their services long ago, and the encryption method is far beyond my ability to analyze. So I sincerely hope that any capable person who sees this post will attempt to extract the files locked by this encryption.

P.S.
I don't believe KuaiZip had any truly original innovation in compression technology. My suspicion is that KuaiZip simply took this open technology and wrapped it inside their own .exe/.kZcontainer — technical analyses from back then suggest the internal compressed data is essentially 7z data with the PKheader rewritten to kZ, plus an uncompressed "readme" file prepended to force users into installing their software. In other words, it wasn't technical superiority but malicious packaging. It hijacked the .zip file association so that only their own (now defunct) client could open these archives. I believe the CMS V64/V65 clients we're dealing with are casualties of this exact practice.

i thought this got broken while user was uploading this to cloud storage.
is there any reason to modify the exe file of PE header and internal compressed file data? (random bytes are inserted to many places, so the PE header looks like broken.)
the software breaks these two thing?

This is exactly what this company did back in the day. I don't think it's a cloud upload corruption. The "random bytes" you saw are most likely the result of KuaiZip's packing behavior. It inserts a stub program and junk data into the exe to protect the original content (which I suspect is actually a normal zip archive inside), causing the PE header to appear broken and making the file unrecognizable to standard decompressors like WinRAR or 7-Zip. I believe this was done to force users into using its own decompression service.

What I think happened: someone stored the CMS V64 and V65 clients and used KuaiZip to compress them for space. Then KuaiZip shut down its service, leaving those files locked.

I am a bit behind on providing clients I have obtained here, but I will get to that soon.

For now though, I got more KMSB versions to share.

v1.41 - 2003-09-23 09:15:04 UTC

This is close to the last version where KMS still used the old login. There's a sample image inside the .wz files that seem to suggest v1.42 is when the new login happened, but . Its possible they started develop the new login starting v1.42 though. For now, we don't know for certain, but its probably close. Pets were already inside the data, but missing their sound effects. Pets were officialy released in v1.42. Pretty neat stuff.

v1.46 - 2003-11-04 06:28:15 UTC

This, however, does have the new login. Pets were also fully released, and numerous other things. Placeholder skills for 3rd job skills also started to appear. 3rd job wasn't released until much later.

Compare 1.41 with 1.46:

v1.46:

As always if you've got clients, patches, or anything, EVEN FROM BURNED CD's, USB's, ETC, do contact me.

If anyone has MSEA v65 (or any version around v61-v65) that'd be much appreciated 🫶

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a preserved MapleStory SEA (MSEA) full client between v147 and v180, ideally v147.1–v150, for WZ preservation / localhost research.

Background:
- Wood Theme Park (MSEA-exclusive Cross World PQ, Efteling-themed) was first added in MSEA v147.1 (March 2015).
- I need the Map/Mob/Npc/String WZ for this content (map IDs around 93305xxxx, mobs like Crown Emperor, Francis, etc.).
- I already installed the current official MSEA v253 client — Map_000 has no 93305xxxx maps (jumps from 933042000 to 940000000).
- Official AsiaSoft / StarHub / Playpark manual patch links from old news posts are dead (connection refused).
- Conserver blog patch links are also dead for me.

What I'm asking for:
- MapleSEA full client OR a working .zip/.rar archive: v147, v148, v149, v150, or any MSEA client up to ~v180 if Wood Theme Park WZ might still be included.
- NOT GMS, NOT CMS/TMS — MapleStory SEA / Playpark / AsiaSoft region only.

What I can verify after download:
- String.wz search: "Wood Theme Park", "Crown Emperor"
- Map.wz: 933050000–933059000 range

I will credit whoever shares and use it only for preservation / private localhost testing, not for republishing copyrighted files.

If anyone still has v145/v150/v182 archives from older community uploads (MEGA/STACK era), a fresh mirror would help a lot.

Thanks in advance.

not in MSEA v146/v152.

if you are talking about this map, this is in MSEA v152.
XML:
        <imgdir name="708001500">
            <string name="streetName" value="Wood Theme Park"/>
            <string name="mapName" value="Crown Emperor Room"/>
        </imgdir>

Riremito Thank you very much for the correction — I had been searching the wrong map ID range (93305xxxx). Your 708001500 snippet is exactly what I needed.

I'm working on preserving MSEA-exclusive Wood Theme Park WZ for localhost research (maps, mobs, NPCs, strings). I don't have a verified MSEA v152 client on my side — only partial CMS-style Chinese map XML with the same IDs.

If you're willing and it's not too much trouble, would you be able to share either:
- a MSEA v152 full client archive, or
- extracted WZ folders (String / Map / Mob / Npc) that still contain 708001xxx and "Wood Theme Park"?

I understand these old clients are hard to host; any pointer to a mirror or preservation archive would also be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for your help.

these are already in web archive.

Thank you again for correcting the map ID — I had been completely off track with the 93305xxxx range. Your 708001500 snippet was exactly what I needed.

Also thank you for pointing me to the Taco Archive and the mesa-maplestory collection on Internet Archive. I'm downloading MESA_v152.7z now. That saved me a huge amount of time compared to searching random mirrors.

Really appreciate you preserving this stuff for the community.

Best regards

Good news and bad news
Good news: I got more beta clients to share
Bad news: It's .exe only

1 KMS(B) client

1.39 KMS - ( ) (2003-09-04 03:39:20 UTC)

Bug fix version of v1.38 and near identical to JMS v20, the Florina Beach patch ( )

1 JMS(B) client

JMS v0.41 ( ) (2004-04-22 11:11:32 UTC)

This is the more interesting client of the two. This is the client close to 1.59 KMS, one of the last clients with the alpha UI, but also with the JMS exclusive features, such as Joypad ( ) as well as the last version of statusbar3 (x.xx% exp instead of xx% exp)

It also has some other behind the scene stuff that KMS does not have. There's suspicion that this client have been modified, but as of right now we do not have proof of that, and it seems unlikely to some of us, since it is from 2004 (snapshot) and it may be even older when it was posted.

EDIT: We have confirmation that this .exe is indeed modded. More info follows on a second edit

Other things this client has that v1.55 doesn't

- Fully released minigames
- Functions for Orbis ship (first client with alpha statusbar still intact)
- Seems more similar still as v1.55 and less smilar os 1.6x

Since this is just the .exe what I personally suggest for anyone that want to make this client usable is using the data from both KMSB v1.55 and 1.66. Do note this client is packed.

Download
KMSB v1.39 (.exe only):

i never played ms that much , and was never much inside of the community, i did notice that people seem to enjoy the korean version the most?? or it seems atleast the most popular , since the devs are koreans and i would guess the remain regional versions were mantained/developed alongside the publishers , wich version do you guys recomend the most to play on? i was thinking to run localhost server or even put online for group of friends , but im pretty new to MS and seeing all the regions, and different client emulators, and web versions and etc it quite gives me an hard time on what to stick first.
