An educational game server emulator written in C#

UPDATE 4/19/2012

Latest compatible version: 9327 (patch 17).
Egris-Bnet Patcher Required. Run Patcher at D3 login screen.
Bnet.Patcher_update_9327
Release mooege-a5d44d8

Quick and Easy Setup to Run Mooege/Diablo 3
Requirements:
1. Diablo 3 Beta (updated to patch 17 version 9327 ).
2. Mooege (version that supports patch 17 version 9327 ).
3. Egris-Bnet Patcher.

Easy Setup
Step 1: Diablo 3 Beta
Download and install the LATEST Diablo 3 Beta that is compatible with LATEST Mooege version. After installation, let it update all the way! Enter the main log in screen at least ONCE, then exit the game.

Step 2: Adding MPQs
Easy Way: Copy all the files inside 'MPQs folder' from Diablo 3 Beta to the Mooege folder and place them into Assets\MPQ.

Step 3: Creating the shortcut for Diablo III
Create a shortcut for Diablo III by locating Diablo III.exe in your D3 installation directory (usually C:\Program Files\Diablo III) by right clicking, and selecting Create Shortcut. Right click the new shortcut and open the properties.
Add -launch -auroraaddress localhost:1345 at end of target line.
e.g. Target: "<install directory>\Diablo III.exe" -launch -auroraaddress localhost:1345

Step 4: Start the Mooege server via Mooege.exe!
For Windows 7 64bit
You may need to install SQLite if you have errors.

Step 5: Logging In Diablo 3 Beta
Run Diablo 3 Beta. Once the Login Screen is showing. Run Egris-Bnet.Patcher.
Now you can log in Diablo 3 Beta with:
Username: test@
Password: anything

Alternate Method to load the MPQs
1. Copy the D3 Beta MPQs folder to your Hard drive directory such as c:/MPQs.
2. Rename the copied folder as MPQ.
3. Open config.ini with notepad thats in the Mooege folder
4. Edit line:
Old - Persistent storage settings [Storage]Root = AssetsMPQRoot=${Root}/MPQ
New - Persistent storage settings [Storage]Root = AssetsMPQRoot=C:\MPQ

This way you dont have to keep copying the D3 Beta MPQ folder to every new Mooege update. All you have to do is edit the config.ini with each new update with the above example. But you have to make sure you have the copied MPQ folder sitting in the C:\ directory of your computer so its path is C:\MPQ

How to Setup Multiplayer
Game Host Instruction for Public Game:
Open Ports 1999 and 1345
Edit config.ini (Host Only)
[NAT] Enabled = true
PublicIP = 109.90.139.208 ; You need to change this to your internet IP

Game Joiner Instruction for Public Game:
Diablo III.exe" -launch -auroraaddress 109.90.139.208:1345 (Host Public IP)

Game Host Instruction for Local Game:
Edit config.ini (Host Only)
[NAT] Enabled = false
PublicIP = 127.0.0.1 ; <---- You need to change to your local IP

Game Joiner Instruction for Local Game:

yo should post up some features as well because this emulator still fail if it is still need to spawn mobs by commands lol. or does it advanced into like the real BETA now?

im planning to build a new rig for my PC, my current PC is about 10 years old lol
with dual core 1.60 ghz and GEFORCE 9400 GT 521DDR2.. i can play at high setting but still not really smooth.. im waiting for the actual Diablo III release and see the recommended requirements before i build a new rig. cause i want to play D3 at ultra setting with this hidden graphic settings that can't be turn it ON for BETA client.

You can open an issue there or look for solutions

:?:When I start bnet patch while the game is running and it says ''failed to start process''. I fallowed your great instructions but this happend. Help please!:D:

Ok when I sign in ''test@'' it says invalid server. thats without the bnet patch that doesn't work. Could this be happening because diddn't download the sugested mpq folders off this website? When i start mooege its ready to go. so why would it say invalid server?

Try downloading the latest build from github

Good Job but i still have one problem. First me run Mooege.exe, then D3 and then patcher but after i want to login on ID "test@" and PW "anything" it says wrong account or password. Any idea how to fix it? (Same problem me got with Beta from blizzard)

Yes I did.
1st Mooege.exe
2nd Diablo 3 Beta.exe
3rd Bnet.Patcher
4th Logining and it still saying, that i put wrong info.

Bnet.Patcher says only:

battle.net.dll adress: 0x3C910000
Program should now be patched.

Anyway this login problem i had even official Beta. It was showing me that i got bad login info, should it be happened by this?

Can you get a stack trace of the error?
Are you typing correctly?
(Sorry for the stupid question -^, just double checking)

Or:

Code:
Step 1: Download MadCow
https://github.com/Wesko/MadCow/zipball/master

Step 2: Compile MadCow with Visual Studio C# 2010 Express (or another C# compiler),

Step 3: place the Folder somewhere you want to keep it safe (on the same Drive please.) [Optional Step]

Step 4: Start up Madcow from that folder, it will create a shortcut on your desktop! so you no longer have to worry about where that folder is or keeping folders on your desktop.

Step 5: Select a Repository, ex: just grab from master (mooege/mooege), press "Validate Repository".

Step 6: Once it gives you a green check-mark, go ahead and press "Update Mooege" (If the FORK has multiple BRANCHES, and second box will appear, where you will need to select a Branch)

Step 7: Press Find Diablo3 Button, and select your diablo 3.exe, this will automatically check if mooege supports the version of diablo you have.

Step 8: "Copy MPQ's" this will automatically copy over all the mpqs necessary for mooege to work, make sure you have an extra 2GBs free.

Step 9: Play Diablo 3 Button, Select the Repository you downloaded, Launch Diablo 3 Button. and Everything should load up!

Step 10: Wait for mooege to say the two lines where the "1" Circle is on the picture below.

Step 11: on diablo -> User: test@ Pass: anything

Step 12: Donate to keep mooege project alive.

This is better because some versions work on different Beta version, and some repositories have other fixes then others

Yes I do. After me come home, I will send you some screenshots about this and you will see I did everything you said in description.
