w3schools IS the shortcut, by the way. It didn't used to be like that. Before you had to graduate high school and goto college to learn the stuff they teach. In fact, if you goto College and get your Associates in Web Design, you pretty much learn how to use Photoshop and Dreamweaver to make web-sites... That's about it. Until you take a 4 year course (Bachelors), you don't get into any Information Systems Technologies. In Fact, the Internet has a lot more to teach than a college. Just search around.
The best way to get a free tutor is to learn a little bit first, BUY photoshop, visit tutorial sites, get the feel for HTML, then get the feel for CSS, then get the feel for combining your images with your web-sites... Or just get Dreamweaver and Photoshop and take tutorials on using those two things together.. Either way, until you can make a good web-site I suggest not trying to learn PHP. I took 3 years of web management and a couple game development courses in High School before I even really knew what PHP was.
I knew how to code in Flash those classes, and I can't see myself trying to learn PHP and JavaScript from just HTML knowledge, though I know a lot of people who do...
It's really hard to start learning this stuff... You can't just come right into web development and make a full on Spore-style game... Just keep playing Neopets, and learn basic web design... (Learn to crawl before you run a marathon)
