Hey pro gamers i have a question for u guys hope u can help/do this, is it possible to make a pserver from a game that has been dead since 2002? i have the org cd of the game but that is it it is a 2d lookdown game called LastKingdom i have loads of ppl wanting to play this game if we r ever able to get it running again i for one am not able to do so as i have no skills in anything really but i am willing to pay for this to get done if possible.Thanks in advance for any answers or advice

Well it's certainly possible, but a lot more difficult when you can't study packets between the client and server. You'll probably have a hard time finding people who could do this unless you find an interested dev team out of people who have played the game before.

finding a dev team from the players wont happen, due to the fact none have any skills :$: wish i could find a team to take on the challange, how much do u think it would cost to pay some1 to do this?

Quite a lot, since it'll be custom game emulator. The CD only provides you the client. You'll have a hard idea doing this. In anycase, good luck.

For paid professional work, thousands in the least, possibly tens of thousands depending on how big a game it is. Anything less than a thousand you can consider cheap work and it requires those people to truly be interested in the project in order to do it as a hobby...

But hey, it's a MMORPG forum and people here do this kind of stuff for the heck of it, so you might get lucky.

Personally, I've never heard of the game.. but yes, I'm not going to repeat what Negata said, instead I'm going to back it up. There are tens of thousands of people who visit this forum, many of whom can develop any sort of game emulator simply. I'm sure you'll find many people who'd be interested. Many people are capable of doing it, they just need the packets and such.

i belive the game max size was 400mb it was from late 90s till 2001 when it shut down if any one wants to take on the project drop me an email
