i have never managed to get port forwarding to work.

i've forwarded the ports 29000, 29100 and 29200 all to 10.0.0.8, the ip for the my rose server. then ive set my channels to be my external ip and ive tried to connect to the server through a .bat with my external ip in it and i get no where.

i even tried forwarding port 80 to 10.0.0.5, my pc with a http server on it, and i still cant connect to that externally, if i remove my router and just use my usb modem i have no problems of course.

port forwarding can die a very painful death.

any ideas on why it isnt working for me ?

10.0.0.(5/8) seems like a very strange internal ip..What kind of router do you have and have you set static ips on all computers on your network?

It's an etec router, it's ip is 10.0.0.2 and everything else is 10.0.0.x

and no i havent done that, how do you do it ? :p

I have dial up adsl broadband with a dyanmic ip does that mean i cant port forward?

i always just assumed that if you didnt have a static ip then you'd have to change the forwarding everytime the ip changed rather tha nit would work at all.

go there, that will teach you everything you need to know. how to make a static ip and forward your ports.

good luck ^^

yeah i've been using that site for some trying to get it to work, i'll give it another go next time i get a minute though.

thanks for your help.

If your router doesnt support loopback, its not possible to view your site using your remote (wan) address.

dude i help ya

your ip is just like mine

go to no-ip web site

and make a no-ip acc

download the software and run it before open the server

soh ppl can join all over the world

example: mupm.no-ip.org = 10.0.0.5
