The models, sounds, some of the maps and most of the UI is identical to the Beta I played of 2nd Enigma. (Except it has much better frame rate and more GFX effects and lighting.)

Not only that, characters hit like in PT 1.
In PT II is annoying whey you go to monster hit it and w8 and w8 and w8 for another hit.

Any way I am interested in PTW beta client files, anyone? :)

Nope... they move and hit the way they did in PT II Beta... the wait was server lag, and made the game almost unplayable... except it lagged the monsters as much as it lagged you.

In fact; I would guess that that is not much different to how the 2nd Enigma English closed Beta that played before Korean 2nd Enigma was officially released, would have worked. If you had a local server with less than 5 players on it.

Additionally, the splash screen you show was also in the 2nd Enigma English Beta, slightly different, but same artwork.

It's also possible that I disabled lighting and reduced effects in a vein attempt to be able to exchange more than 1 blow every 40 seconds with a monster. :(:

The movement is, and was exactly the same as in . Click the scene, a diamond appears at destination (ground point under cursor at the time of click) and player charts a course towards that point... usually through as many monsters as it can find to pull with it. Cancelling a destination that isn't interpreted as you intended is quite difficult. Click a monster, and you character runs up stands next to it for a while, and then they start the Rock, Paper, Scissors fight. One round every 40 - 60 seconds. ::yawn:: Then you hope nothing else spawns and walk away to make a cup of tea.

One of you may be dead by the time you return... or they might still be at it.

Most of MMORPGs are going for "turn-based combat", not really turn-based but what I see on PT 2 is close to that. You hit you wait you hit you wait...
This way PVP in PT 2 is dull.
PTW combat look more like PT 1 combat. That generate too big lag? Maybe we can add some speed to PT 1? So PVP would be in real time.
Even on same machine two clients have 2-3 sometimes even more sec lag.

And Off a bit. Anyone know something about law that regulate stealing items, maps etc from one game to another? Take in note that we already using stolen server :)

PT1 combat is "turn-based combat", Halo 3 is turn based combat. The fact that lag can give you more rolls of the dice than someone else in PT1 is a big problem. Especially in PvP.

We didn't steal server. We modified a client that was released into the public domain to run as a server.

Asset theft is a really really bad thing... it's like downloading MP3s of pop music you don't own, and then putting them up on a file sharing network. I mean who would be so evil as to do that? It's despicable.

Sarcasm over the analogy is good. Both acts are totally illegal, and yet have you noticed how many copyrighted Blizzard sound effects are in PT1? Did Triglow or Yedang pay Blizzard for them I wonder?

Also, one of the first things I spotted when I first logged into PT was the Ricarten background noise comes from an old old 90 degree first person RPG from the Amiga days. XD

? It don't look like modified client by people that don't have source at all... I was talking about server4096.exe

PT1 might be laggy but thats price for constant skill casting and it don't look like "turn-based combat" combat at all... Linage look like that... PT 2 look like that but not PT 1 and PTW was going that way too. That would be interesting. PT 1 with modern graphic.

It would... But if PTW is as much like the Beta I played of PT II 2E, then it's nothing like PT.

PT with "modern graphic" was Laxe Lore.

I'd still love it if someone could pull out all the 3D rendering stuff, and break it down into scene composition calls that you could map to a 3D Engine of your choice. (Or, hack together a LL server Emu XD)
