server configuration settings broken as well im working on it.
THERE ARE SEVERAL ISSUES WITH THE NEW 174 that was put up in releases I am currently testing this and will get back to you guys so far the gui edit doesnt work the xml does. For one just letting you guys know i cant guarantee full comparability yet. Ill post temp fixes till im ready to update the main folder heres a fix for rolegui so your character editor will work.
Id like to start out by thanking the people who worked on this with without whom this would not have been possible corzca Creez and Krona (sent to the banned beyond and still doing good work) This panel is the culmination of many many hours of work on all of our parts. ) Thanks Guys!! and of course all those who came before us and worked on this..
Notice ive tested this on ubuntu 20.04 22 and 24 and alma9 as well as Debian 12 in an attempt to be thorough.
Whats New
Far far too many things to count logins with bccrypte and proper hashing stored in the database so many features you will have to try them out and see. ( note if you are on 155 and down and prefer the old one ive left the links in tact in the second post)
Now lets get started with Getting the panel.
You will be prompted for the location of your server install for most this will probably be /home but you may have something different this is where your server process are auth gamed gambed etc. Then your sql database details these are very important as without them you cant install the panel.(For most people the default settings will be fine other than user and pass if you have different settings you are probably smart enough to understand what you are doing) Once this portion is complete you will have the option to install the panel press enter and installation will begin. If you did everything correct the panel will be ready the install at this point is hands free.
Start the Panel
Once you exit the installer navigate to the folder where pwdmin is installed this will be in the server root you defined earlier and /pwadmin/bin from here you will type ./startup.sh to start the container for the panel or ./shutdown.sh to shut it down. The entire panel is self contained no need to install anything. ( for convenience i like to add this to a start script somewhere. )
navigate to YOURIPorDOMAIN:8080/pwadmin if you put your sql details in correctly you will be greeted with a login screen. This step is crucial remember what you put in as what you type in will be your main admin user. Clicking login create the table in the database automatically admin_users you should be automatically taken to your server control after this (remember that table if you ever lock yourself out you can drop it and go back to login to recreate a new user)
Congrats you have just installed your panel if you would like to setup ipwhite listing head over to settings note you can enable the whitelisting here and the addons tab the other option is something most people shouldnt fuss over and enable it you can then add your ip to the whitelist.txt in your WEB-INF folder note if you are on 155 you are ready to go from here for 173 there are some additional steps if you find your rates wont save(ON 173 ONLY) you need to patch your gs go to addons look for gs fix click the button there and wait for it to complete you will receive a pop up. (Make sure the server is not running when you do this running this will also backup your gs file.)
You can also create users here and give them permissions to view certain pages if you want to make full admin users there is a folder in your pwadmin directory called extras move the admin registration plugin into addons this will take care of that for you though i dont recommend giving too many people that kind of access to your panel.
You also may back up the various folders of your server install note some of these folders are large backup may take a while I usually atleast back up the database and gamedbd regulary.
New server rates page. There is a selector here for the settings page the default is the 173 page DO NOT SAVE SETTINGS WITH THIS IF ON A VERSION UNDER 173 ive yet to find one it didnt eat the gs.conf luckily clicking save settings will back this conf up for you. There are even pop ups warning you if you do this and it messes up your gs dont blame me. For those of you on older versions than 173 simply click the selector and switch it to 155 for a redesign of the classic server settings menu you are used to. This one will work fine Note for 173 restart the server after setting rates for 155 as usual make sure the server is running.
New gui and xml editor note this is a powerful tool and mismanaging it can have consequences if youve ever dumped the wrong data into a char you already know the xml option is very similar to the old admin editing raw xml data so we will focus on the gui version.
Here you will see the contents of your chars pockets and store house click an item in the inventory will give you its count and octets should you desire to edit them.
AGAIN EDITING CAN BE DANGEROUS BE CAREFUL (note if you find something interesting to edit or make a fix to something share it we will put it in this goes for addons too we are in this to help the community ) id go so far as backing up your server before doing it. There are so many new things and I will expand this guide later but I am exhausted I hope you guys enjoy this thing we all enjoyed making it for you and look forward to improving it with time.
