Regarding this section

I can't wait until all of the people in this section, who don't already have a computing job, actually get one. Maybe then they'll see how real development is done, and are able to use it to benefit actual flyff development. Every development thread I've ever seen in this section has been poorly documented and poorly managed. This is a MMORPG development forum, not a MMORPG release forum. The release section needs to be removed, and actual development should be more emphasized. Have a moderator write out a template to start off community projects that includes things like team members, mission statements, gantt charts, network diagrams, use cases. This will not only help projects to be better organized and successful, but it will also help people with starting their professional careers in the development industry.

I have a few example as I study Game development.
You don't want to know how much documentation you are talking about.

I fully documented this game with someone else at my internship :):

I had over 50 pages including too check how other games like that works.
Without had 24 pages. subtract 10 pages or something for the things you might need for small things for Flyff.
You will need a Concept,Functional design,Technical design and a asset list.
If that are all done then you can start making your game. And I tell you it will take a few day's. :P

So if anyone want me to make a quick template then I will try to make one.

I am in computer science, as well as a development organization that started from here. I am well aware of the length of documentation. Planning is one of the most essential parts of software development, and not everyone in software development is a programmer. I say come up with one, and if anyone wants to build off of it let them take it from there.

Cried? I stated that Error404 attacked me first. A moderator. The person you're supposed to go for help and look up to. I was making a point that me, a member, started nothing. A moderator and SilentNL did.

lol, what are you on about?

I couldn't give a **** who looks up to me. I was here not because of green name, but because I wanted to keep the section somewhat together.

Also, designing websites = pay.

Nah,, was freelancing for free back in the day

Are you serious, or are you just really bad at using sarcasm?

Anyways, I don't think a staff member of any community should be so crude on the forum they moderate. Seriously, I never would've thought that the forum moderators would get anywhere near as bad as GlaphanKing was. Guess I overestimated this community once again.

Watch out, ๖̶̶̶ۣۜYyZz, if you try to stop people from flaming each other, the mods will delete your posts. :I

So yeah, I just read the complete thread, was worth for almost an hour reading O.o

For the people that don't know me, I'm Dragoon from the Rose Online section.
So at first I would like to share my opinion on how to make this section better.

Make a system where when the user hasn't entered the flyff section before or when a rule is changed,
he or she (or it) needs to read the rules again.
This would be done by some kind of popup with a confirmation button which will go active after an estimated amount of time,
like when you can read all the rules in 3 minutes, the confirmation button will go active after 3 minutes.

Remove all the re-asked questions and make some kind of super FAQ containing all the questions and their answers.

Some things that excesively annoy are:
PLZ HELP SIR I'M I DON'T WANT TO LEARN!!!!111!!one!!!
I have become error and even worse english. (Make these people post in their native language along with a translation from google)
Asking files of popular private servers.

So this is the part where you all disagree with me, you think the mods should be less strict,
but giving freedom to a rebelish criminal will make it comit more crimes.
So when a flame war is coming up delete the posts that have to do with it and private message the people involved.
When a person violates the rules of a section,
like making a thread called "..." and saying "I have become error and I give no info, won't search and you PRO DEV SIR fix for me".
Please ban people who make threads as the previous mentioned example. Otherwise just warn them.
A strict and organized environment shows calmness and respect, the rules should be loosened when the section is ready for it.
And judging by the things I have seen so far, the section is not ready for it. But I believe it can and will be.

Also I completely agree with people being mad at people who come asking questions about visual studio.
I agree this is a development section, not a C++ for noobs section.
Any source code released should come with information about what it does,
what external libraries are needed to compile and for which compiler it's originally written.
And if they release chunks of code they should test their own "tutorial" themselves making sure
that if done correctly there are no build errors.
And their thread should explicitly state "NOOB UNFRIENDLY" either in the first line of their post or their topic title.

And about bumping threads, I think people shouldn't get mad over it,
I generally like to bump up a thread then make a new post about the exact same thing.
And I think it's okay to bump a thread because a link is dead,
people should host their files at reliable resource like GameFront (and it's free).
Like with Cola for example, I have been searching over whole google for it,
but the only site I find gives me a 404 when the download button is clicked.

Oh and everyone don't take everything too personal, it's the internet.
When someone attacks you or your post, act like the post isn't there and push that report button.

So my votes are currently going to YyZz, Adler, TheWordless and MisterKid.
Even though they might not like eachother they should just put their feelings aside,
forget about the past and laugh about it.

P.S. Mental, please assign a new mod in the Rose Online section, it's too messed up and dead there. PurpleYouko is doing a fine job there however.
OFFTOPIC: P.P.S. I'm currently trying to crack Neurospace.7z anyone interested in helping?
A korean dictionary file is highly appreciated :D

I think the section should be a little bit more strict regarding
leechers, however, leechers will later on get their own to start
trying to develop their own, and that way section will always keep
progressing.

What we need at the moment, is a way to incentieve and boost leechers
to the start developing their own, however, if the release section is removed for example,
they won't have any bases to start with.

For example, I didn't get to start trying to develop in the FlyFF source since just a
month ago, and at the beginning I found it quite hard, since there isn't
many explanations around ragezone. Meaning that could be a reason of why
leechers don't get to start developing and they rather keep using others stuff
and in the "PLZ HELP ERROR CRASH!" spree.

As for now, I also suggest as somebody said earlier, to force people
to post things strictly in english, either the thread where they post it,
as the release itself. that way leechers will start to understand more
what's done in the release etc, and use it as a base and even a guide
for futher things they want to do.

Instead of "killing" leechers, we shall support them to get out of that way
and get to develop their own, but they never will if it's that hard.

Obviusly, many of you may come and say that was only good servers will survive.

But in my opinion, leechers are also needed around, even to come out with
good ideas other people can develop later on for their own.

It's like we all setted as purpose remove Pinoys from playing FlyFF pservers,
the count of every single server will go DOWN really fast.

Probably removing leechers could cause a similar effect.

I'm just saying ^^.

You must remember some of us were asking the same questions in the past , it's somewhat apart from learning. People overdo it just posting for help for every problem they come across , they don't even try to fix it or look through Google for help. When I was a moderator for the old archived section , I simply posted the rule of making a new thread to requesting files from threads to which links were dead in. It's just untidy bringing a thread that was buried for over 3 weeks back to the surface. About moderators , you guys said that you needed guys that knew the protocol and who can lead team projects , what happens if interest is lost in that project and it's abandoned? That hope you had was lost , my suggestion? You're better off learning your own language and taking a shot with the source.

My idea of a perfect moderator is someone who can be serious about their job but yet , interact with the users of the section , someone that has extreme patience , someone who isn't gonna react to every post that is directed to them and someone who isn't afraid to contribute once in a while. I won't know who to choose , because I visit this section time to time and I don't know whose got the potential or not.

That's why I mentioned the section moderators should be more strict with them, but not that much as many people want around here.

I think you misunderstood me a bit, I don't think we should get rid of the pinoys or leechers.
The thing is some people post posts with horrible english,
when you are not capable of typing english you should write in your native language with a translation from google provided.
For example some one is german, but doesn't know english at all,
then he writes in his native language along with a (crappy) translation from google,
then the people who understand german can provide a translation for the rest of the community.

OFFTOPIC: P.S. are you the deadmouse that makes hardstyle?
