Why doesn't this file open in my VMware Workstation??

And should I move the 'BNS_2020_files.vmdk' file to the 'bns' folder???
Even if I run it after moving it, the same error occurs.

When I unzipped the 800mb file here, a 27gb file came out.
Which of the two should I use??

Does the network use bridge mode??
Do you open BNS_2020.vmx With VM ??

Why doesn't this file open in my VMware Workstation??

I'm not sure what you mean.
Are you saying that using 'VMware Workstation Pro' is wrong?
Here it is explained in the screenshot that you sent
"BNS_2020.vmdk cannot be opened directly. Open the Virtual Machine configuration file(.vmd) instead"

This means you have to open VMWare first and after that open the BNS_2020.vmx file. not directly from the vmdk file.

BNS_2020.vmx
file. not directly from the vmdk file.

CMIIW.
I should have imported the 'vmx' file first.
This is the first time this has happened.
So do you know what the difference is between 27gb vmdk and 37gb vmdk?
Thank you for answer.

*Additional message*

Another problem arose.
Does this have a problem with my computer specs?
The default setting was 12 cpu, so I reduced it to 8.
Other than that I didn't do anything.

Try setting the partition or possibly changing the file attributes, removing the read-only checklist. for the size of the size between the two I do not understand. I only got a large size of 1 vmdk file

Yes, that's because this VM you are using was the one i mounted with WinServer 2012 and
a HD (1 vmdk file), to make it light and easy for everyone.

Unpacking localfile or localfile64, translate what you want, repacking.
Don't ask how to unpack and repack.
Because I just used any user share here.
Not found and nothing happened. Everything has been unpacked including 64.

I'm sorry, teacher. I'm a beginner so I don't really understand.
What does partition mean? I don't know what and where to divide it. The only partitions I know are disk partitions that are divided when formatting.

possibly changing the file attributes, removing the read-only checklist.
Does this mean right-clicking the 'BNS_2020.vmdk' file and clicking the 'Properties' button? And are you talking about the read-only/hidden checkbox??

Even read-only does not solve this problem.
Could this be a problem with my computer specifications??

My computer specs are
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700 CPU
Number of cores 4 (max 4)
Number of threads 8 (max 8)
Mainboard Model B250M MORTAR ARCTIC (MS-7A69)
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER
It's like this.
Is it impossible to run it for solo play with these specifications??

Just click Bns_2020.vmx. VM will automatic open

I don't care about your computer specifications, I only help if it helps you. If it doesn't work. I don't know anymore. :msmile:

This keeps happening over and over again.
To me, that is not a solution.
By your own screen shots you still have the BNS_2020.vmdk.lck folder. The .lck is a LOCK folder. I was not able to start this VM up either until the lock folder was no longer present. For whatever reason, VMware 17 did not recognize this lock as belonging to the VM itself.

Could anyone help me troubleshoot why windows is failing to start for the VM? I went through the thread and verified the VM Player settings are matching (though some things are different in 17 Player)
