it gives me a error with visual studio 2010. it says that its been created using a newer version.

edit: i installed sp1 and it works

You need to use Visual Studio 2010 with Service Pack 1 Installed.

Delete the source and extract again, you have messed it up by opening that project and saving in MS VS 2012/2013 Extract source again and open DayZ.sln with Visual Studio 2010 Professional SP1

Yes that is what I use for mostly everything I develop. Just make sure you have the latest SP1 patch installed after you have VS 2010

again... and now it says it cant include "versionNo.h(12): fatal error RC1015: cannot open include file '../../buildNo.h'.". i did everything that it said in the tutorial.

edit: i rebuilded it and now this "LINK : fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file 'libbulletcollision_d.lib'"

Are you trying to build Debug? If so build only Retail Server or Retail Client
