you probably saved it wrong way , open it with PK.exe , new crypt also as config.pk not e.pk

i did it exactly like you say i can log in and when i run with char after 3-5 sec comes the Error
wrong data in Config Folder sounds like md5 but md5 is deactivated

go to your Client/data/Config should be there ClientVer.dat & Config.pk and m_config.pk only ...other files delete them
same way in data/hypertext/uie should be there e.pk only.. other files delete them

you probably changed config , create new char and check if items disappear to. , or the saving time of db is really long
