I'm assuming this is for the Greenhope server pack?

If so:
Is there any way to get the NPCs in every town to attack and kill anything that attacks them first? I would like them to be ranged to kill the Archer and Mage jerks too...But they should only kill the players that attack them, not all the players ^^. And they should stay stationary.

Anyone know?

demrok, im trying to get into the server editing thing (teaching myself how to use progs and such) and was wondering if you know of some free xml and html editing programs. google gets me 30 day trials with useless features....

you want to have fighting in towns enabled?
i believe i've seen an option to turn that off (vague)

don't know how, but it sounds like you were up to a multitude of editing for
your plans, however i don't see why it shouldn't be possible

aren't half the guards archers already anyway?
just have to swap some out then
and they do attack when you attack, so what's the matter there?

I recommend you give TextPad a try. It does everything from HTML to java and has multiple modes

To view the content, you need to sign in or register

Gove that a try. It's shareware and every 12 times or something that you save a document it asks you to register, you just need to click "Later" and you can keep using it. Good luck !

STEP 3) Start apache/mysql server by runing "C:\server\start.bat"
you will notice that you now have a W:\ Drive added to your hard drive list in My Computer, it is a temp drive so don't freak out, you need it.

Well, I cant see mysql, apache, PhP or Java starting in my task manager, and it doesnt create W:\ Drive.

Any suggestions ?

Jloyl i mean. Ahh here's an example.

Normally when you have any NPC, say, a gatekeeper, it just sits there. And you talk to it and go about your business.

Now say some jerk comes along and attacks the gatekeeper till it dies? How do I increase the Gatekeepers health, def, m def, anything like that, and get the gatekeeper to kill whoever hits it and still do it's normal function(ie, porting people around).

L2extreme has that, where the GK kills whoever hits it. How do I get that on my server?

hmm on L2eX i noticed some NPCs do a kind of reflect damage, could be they implemented that with custom skills (that server is a Off though, from what i hear)

i don't really have experience in editing NPCs; can only suggest you find a town guard and a teleporter and compare the data in your DB, maybe you can swap around some attributes,
at least you should be able to set the HP/P.def higher there

i'll let you know if i find something out myself, gonna try a few things later

Piffan, a little more information about your problem would help
what happens when you run start.bat? and what version of the server are you running? etc

where did you install your server to? I see this " net/sf/l2j/Server" in the error line, if you don't have your sever installed in the C:\ Drive to C:\Server
it will not run
as well, after you extract the server files to C:\Server you must run the start.bat file and then go into C:\Server\l2j\tools and run the full install (if it is the first time you've set up the server) This will place all the MySQL database files in their proper spots

Demrok, i have done everything you say but nothind.
This net/sf/l2j/server is also in the startserver.bat file in this form
net.sf.l2j.Server As for the MySQL Database i have installed and i can see all tables from phpMyAdmin. I am really troubled!!!!!!!!

dalfin try reinstalling java and also update if you dont have the newest updates. that may help as well.

Hi again.
Problem remains BUT i tried edit the startserver.bat file and i got a different message.
I changed the net.sf.l2j.Server line to C:\server\l2j .I did not get a java error but a list of commands for java and how the line i put was not a recognizable java command.
Any IDEAS?????
P.S. i have the newest java.

Don't edit the startserver.bat :eh: there no NEED to...
I recommend you start 100% Fresh... Delete your server folder, redownload everything from my guide and start new. Do NOT deviate from my instructions and you should have a server running.

and remember everyone...
Don't want the server to install on C:\? Too bad it's going there, don't try and muck around with it unless you have A: advanced MySQL knowledge and B: Some Type of Java knowledge
if you install the server to C:\Server it WILL work
