Dont Have To Edit Sql or Modify odbc either.

First, we need to get the MAIN gameserver running. We edit the following files on the MAIN gameserver:

D:\muserver\CS\data\Connectserverlist.dat:
//Server List
0 "Mu97a" "IP-WAN" 55901 "SHOW"
1 "Mu97b" "IP-WAN" 55902 "SHOW"

D:\muserver\CS\data\Serverlist.dat:
//Server List
0 "Mu97a" "IP-WAN" 55901 "SHOW"
1 "Mu97b" "IP-WAN" 55902 "SHOW"

D:\muserver\CS\Connectserverlist.dat:
//Server List
0 "Mu97a" "IP-WAN" 55901 "SHOW"
1 "Mu97b" "IP-WAN" 55902 "SHOW"

D:\muserver\data\commonserver.cfg:
Find these lines and change:
ChaosEventServer = IP1
DevilSquareEventServer = IP1
EventChipServerIp = IP1

D:\muserver\data\IpList.dat:
//

everything works fine includeing the server showing up as a sub. But when i click on the subserver i get disconnection, the main server works, also im sure its connecting to CS but i cant get it to connect to my new dataserver i made the link on it 55506 i believe please tell me what i am doing wrong, could it have something to do with the name of the server in all those files?

for ct99B+ with sql connect remote subserver

Beforehand i'd like thank Spirithawk for a nice guide! Although it did'nt work right for me and had to do some tweakings myself before it worked i'd say i owe it to this guide!

this is the original guide i'll be inserting mine so you can easily follow:First, we need to get the MAIN gameserver running. We edit the following files on the MAIN gameserver:

legend:
IP-WAN1= static ip or dns name of Main server
IP-WAN2= static ip or dns name of Sub server
IP1=local ip of Main server

D:\muserver\CS\data\Connectserverlist.dat:
//Server List
0 "Mu97a" "IP-WAN1" 55901 "SHOW"
1 "Mu97b" "IP-WAN2" 55902 "SHOW"

D:\muserver\CS\data\Serverlist.dat:
//Server List
0 "Mu97a" "IP-WAN1" 55901 "SHOW"
1 "Mu97b" "IP-WAN2" 55902 "SHOW"

D:\muserver\CS\Connectserverlist.dat:
//Server List
0 "Mu97a" "IP-WAN1" 55901 "SHOW"
1 "Mu97b" "IP-WAN2" 55902 "SHOW"

D:\muserver\data\commonserver.cfg:

when you fire up the CT99 gs on the remote server without going through this you'll get an error much like that of your GS being expired which isn't the case!!! heres how you do it. open up your mygsfun.ini and look for this line:

DSN=DSN=MuOnline;UID=sa;PWD=dbpassword

replace DSN,UID,PWD with your own to log on sql..
when done fire up gs and if all is done right youll see ur subserver..enjoy!

i forgot! you have to add a DSN for you to connect on the main servers sql aand open the port too!...

need a bit help on this one how i set dns connection for sql server?

you have to configure your odbc much like when you add odbc's for your muserver..except that rather connecting on local you'll be using dns and configuring client to use tcp not pipes.
be sure to use the port set by your remote sql and have it opened and firewalled..and of course you have to have the right login account..also check your remote sql to accept both windows and sql authentication. i don't use msn..i use yahoo IM at [email protected].
gud luck! ciao!

Things are not clear some.
1. that such IP1? (ChaosEventServer = IP1)
2. that such IP1 wan (ChaosEventServer = IP1 wan)
3. DataServer3 what to type in a shortcut?
4. On the second (SUB) server it is started only GameServer?

You might want to give some clear help here, cause Anti and I are working our ass off, but we keep getting the chs error with the white cross in red circle.

Also my sub gets stuck in the guildloading screen once in a while, but IF we pass that one, and get it "running" the chs error is still there.

When people try to login *I can't login on my own sub for some reason*. They or get DCed right away, or have some weird characters with some sort of protection message.

When those people try to login, they are stuck at the in-game loading screen.

Any suggestions?

EDIT:

When I check my MyGsFun.txt *the log I think*, I have this (dutch) error:

19:24:36

I have 2 PC. server vers 0.97
1- have 2 lan card and 2 IP, 1 IP WAN, seocnd ip LAN (IP1)
second PC have one lan card and LAN IP (IP2)

On first PC i change here :
D:\muserver\CS\data\Connectserverlist.dat:
//Server List
0 "Mu97a" "IP-WAN" 55901 "SHOW"
1 "Mu97b" "IP-WAN" 55902 "SHOW"

D:\muserver\CS\data\Serverlist.dat:
//Server List
0 "Mu97a" "IP-WAN" 55901 "SHOW"
1 "Mu97b" "IP-WAN" 55902 "SHOW"

D:\muserver\CS\Connectserverlist.dat:
//Server List
0 "Mu97a" "IP-WAN" 55901 "SHOW"
1 "Mu97b" "IP-WAN" 55902 "SHOW"

D:\muserver\data\commonserver.cfg:
Find these lines and change:
ChaosEventServer = IP1
DevilSquareEventServer = IP1

as the guide given by janmyke theres some i typical error in the link of gs thats why when you click the subserver it disconnects.

link : D:\muserver\GameServer\GameServer.exe IP1 (LAN) 55970 IP1 (LAN) 55962 55901

must be D:\muserver\GameServer\GameServer.exe IP1 (LAN) 55970 IP1 (LAN) 55962 55902

the port 59901 must be 55902

I can connect now but theres seems to be a problem with the IP decleration in the cs
coz when local it can connect but global it disconnect.

heres my Ip decleration in the cs:

D:\muserver\CS\data\Connectserverlist.dat:
//Server List
0 "Muserver1" "my-no-ip.com" 55901 "SHOW"
1 "Muserver2" "local-ip-server2" 55902 "SHOW"

D:\muserver\CS\data\Serverlist.dat:
//Server List
0 "Muserver1" "my-no-ip.com" 55901 "SHOW"
1 "Muserver2" "local-ip-server2" 55902 "SHOW"

D:\muserver\CS\Connectserverlist.dat:
//Server List
0 "Muserver1" "my-no-ip.com" 55901 "SHOW"
1 "Muserver2" "local-ip-server2" 55902 "SHOW"

Now since theres 2 servers now can i use both IPs with the same global ips like this?

0 "Muserver1" "my-no-ip.com" 55901 "SHOW"
1 "Muserver2" "my-no-ip.com" 55902 "SHOW"

Only the port differs? coz when i put local ip only the local compuers via lan can connect.

if not what ip shud be placed specially in the D:\muserver\CS\data\Serverlist.dat

I cant try it now coz im not in my server ryt now.... if someone can share I would be greatful. it will save me some tym to figure it out.

by the way nice work guys !!

by the way im on a router so i suppose the wan is the same with 2 servers ryt?
