Show stuff

Re: [Show] Website Design

cause they have no creativity and also this bg color fails

change it and will be fine :)

I couldn't really find a suitable BG color :(:

I suppose its a good thing when people are inspired by my designs, but what i dont get is why keep the header the same style..

I'll change it as soon as possible :):

Thanks for the replies.

Re: [Show] Website Design

Using an existing design isn't creative at all.
Use your own or don't post it at a forum, it's embarrassing for yourself when people can point fingers.

Dosen't take long to learn photoshop, and then use dreamweaver.

You can pull of some amasing stuff just by drag'n'drop.

Re: [Show] Website Design

*cringe* dreamweaver D:

np++
ConTEXT
Coda (on mac)
Bluefish (on linux)

only programs you need for the writing of the code.

Dreamweaver adds in so much unnecessary ****.

Plus when you actually learn the language instead of drag and dropping, then it's better in the long run.

Ehrm I can tell you a lot of epic web designers use it for their designs. It's a good tool, not perfect, but it does the job. Just the HTML based which is pretty easy but takes a bit time to write in notepad.

I say good for dreamweaver.

I can type faster than most people can drag & drop then click the box to insert their variables.

Most web designers I know won't even touch it.

Re: [Show] Website Design

BG color is bad, but overall 7/10.

I can pretty much guarentee that any web developer who uses WYSIWYG/drag and drop tools to write code doesn't have a clue what they're speaking about. Dreamweaver is perfectly acceptable, provided that you're only using the code view to write stuff.

Komodo edit ftw.

Re: [Show] Website Design

As well, any real employer that may potentially employ you for such things, will want you to know how to hand code stuff. It's one of the main questions I ALWAYS get asked when applying for a job if I know how to hand code and am not reliant on a WYSIWYG editor.

In most cases (like with dreamweaver), when you use all it's features. It bloats your code, inserts tons of code that is downright not needed, and has a tendency to cause some major cross-browser compatibility issues. All of which you would have to go back manually to fix by hand anyways.

So the way I see it, do it right the first time, and you'll save yourself time and headache.

But if you just use the source view in DreamWeaver and the IntelliSense or whatever you wish you call it. Then it could help you write faster. But there's much lighter (and free) programs out there that will do that and more for you.

Re: [Show] Website Design

@BlackBox

I agree with you, but you have to agree that the dreamweaver is the best html/css tool for newbies (like me).

Re: [Show] Patcher page.

I like the concept of the header, but the main page could use some help :P:

Re: [Show] Patcher page.

That is a really good idea with the header. Wow, that's something I've never thought of. Anyways, I gotta agree with the trolls above. Your middle is pretty bad. Are you using DIVs or TABLE for the news setup ?
